It wouldn't be a bad move. He's not necesary, but he'd fit nicely, and keeping him away from Boston would be good. He really is a very good mid-range shooter. He's a pretty decent finisher and defender as well.

If Boston gets Joe Smith, I don't see why they'd want Moore. Moore is like a poor man's Smith.

I don't think we will go after either Joe Smith or Mikki Moore unless Bynum is out for the season again. Although it would suck to see Boston adding another great veteran on the cheap again, we simply don't have the money for it. We just made two cost cutting moves in like a week. Besides, both of them have a similar game as Josh Powell and we already have him on the roster playing like he deserves to.

mikki isnt a starter material but we need a back up center in a bada way, i just cant see how we can play gaasol 41, 42, 43 minutes per night without a risk of injury. After all we only need him to play 10 to 15 mpg.
And i rather have him than joe smith after all mikki is a center and p.f. we already have more than enough with gasol, odom and powell

YEP we need a center, there's no reason to take a risk for not having Drew for the playoffs, better safe than sorry.

Preferably would like Joe Smith but I doubt he comes to LA, he wants to be a Cavs or Celt...

I agree. Other than Bynum our only other true Center is Mbenga. When our team is healthy, Gasol is pretty much our starting PF and Bynums backup since he moves to Center whenever Odom comes in, and it sucks having to play Powell at center. I hope to see Gasol get a decent amount of rest before the playoffs cause he needs it.

Despite his abilities Mikkie Moore works real hard. Every time he's on the court he gives it his all and you can tell. I think if he were to become a Laker he'd work that much harder and be a pretty decent player.

I agree. We don't really need him but I'd rather not have Pau play over 40mpg until Drew is back.

No thanks! Jason Kidd was responsible for him getting a big contract.

^^^^^^Adding Mikki would have nothing to do with how he got his earlier contract if he gets bought out, but more about how the few minutes he could provide could help to make sure some of our NEEDED players dont get worn down too early in the season or injured. Lets remember Pau did play all last year and summer, and is now playing heavy minutes. Odom also tends to have a out of the blue injury from time to time.

The amount paid to aquire Mikki would be far less than the effect of losing a major rotation player. Mihm was just not capable of playing and would be more expensive compared to a vet minimum ad on. Think long term here as far at THIS season is concerned.

When Bynum comes back he can ease his way back in due to Mikki having a few games under his belt allowing us the ability to slowly add back in our defensive anchor. Also Mikki while no stud can help on the weakside / man defense and doesn't have to score a point on offense.

Who are we kidding here? We could use as much size upfront as we can in the playoffs and Mikki "The Predator" Moore is no bum either. He hustles and rebounds every possession like Turaif and can get under other players' skin pretty easily. He is definitely an upgrade over Mihm and unless we're in penny saving mode, we could tag him along for the rest of the season.

Why Don't We Sign Mikki Moore We Need A Big

Post#18 » by kooner » Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:08 pm

Should we try to sign this guy, he can play 10-14minf of the bench and give Gasol nice rest every game since Gasol is averaging almost 40mins a game due to no Bynum. Mikki grabs offense board and defensive boards plus he will give us a nice spark off the bench. This guy would be good with the second unit cause he run up and down the court. We should try to sign him, we cleared Chris Mimhs salary offer him half of that for rest of the season or give the veteran minimum. Anyways i think he would help us a lot until Bynum comes back and would also we good in the playoffs.
