Waived/buyout/FA players thread

Post#1 » by eastsidecrossover » Fri Feb 20, 2009 3:15 am

Lets start the talk about released players. The only two I can think of are Marbury and Mikki Moore. Like I said in another thread, since Tim Thomas went back to chicago, the team he did not want to play for and who released him, do you think he will be released?

What I read is Moore is likely to go to Boston, and so is marbury if he is ever released.

Who else might be released, and if they are released, are they counted against the cap because I heard it is what your ending salary is.

I don't know about TT, might ask in the Bull forum. Moore might be interesting to us if he matches up decent with Pau.

Quincy Douby was waived also I think. He would be a good pick up considering he's getting second round money so it would basically just be a low risk high reward type of signing.

Really surprised at Mikki - he was a hot free agent not long ago

I just read that about TT. QD would be a nice pickup because he was suppose to be a good 2nd rd pick. What about Joe Smith? espn is saying he wants to be bought out and go to the celitics too. Remember when guys wanted to come to Phx??? I Hope we can land a solid backup big and maybe a backup pg.

I remember some in here wanted the suns to pick Mouhamed Sene. The dude got waived by OK soft thunder. I knew that cat would be a bust.

Well if Smith gets bought out, the C's aren't going to sign him AND Moore, so we have a chance at one of them.

I'd rather go for Smith than Moore. Moore is an unskilled hustle player, and we already got that in Sweet Lou.

Would Sarver want to fork out more money to sign one of those guys?

I thought the Cavs were interested in Smith and Moore as well.

Thing is, it is still OK city. that must be one of the worst places to live next to Memphis. These spots are not going to keep or attract big names for long. Seattle on the other hand has a history and is a nice town that is more exciting and hip then OK city is. I in no way think they are building the next ptl.

Smith would be nice but either one would be a good signing because we need the help.

I think the PTL reference was more of an observance to their wealth of young talent and draft picks.

didn't Lue sign with Orlando from MIL like 2-3 weeks ago? Now the Magic have Lue, A. Johnson, Alston, and injured Nelson. Either Lue or Johnson will be waived. Maybe we can make a run at one of these guys.

I'm not sure Suns need to add another player on this current roster. Obviously it's just a thirteenth spot, I guess Sarver will prefer to sign Sims for the remainder of the season when his 2nd ten days contract will be finished. I'd prefer see dragic, Dudley, Tucker or Lopez dressed than a new player (M.Moore for example if he is waived). Their confidence is better since Gentry is our new coach, we should keep them active.

I think a Lue/Johnson type would do wonders...

I also need to reiterate I hate Mikki Moore...

Thunder are going to wave Saer Sene. I think the dude could be a nice Steven Hunterish type of guy for us: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Saer-Sene-246/
