I blame this loss on rust. We just didn't hit our shots because we weren't in top form.
My Starting 5:

PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Paul Pierce
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Patrick Ewing

Agreed...we've basically been on the road 2 weeks already (game-wise) with the 2 before the ASB and now another 4-5....
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I'm so sick and tired of Ray Allen NOT getting enough touches down the stretch of close games. Is he not part of the big 3 (lol..or the remaining 2). There could be games in which Allen goes for 7-8 in the first half, and then gets like 3 shots in the entire second half. Allen is way to good of a shooter to not get at least 16 shots a game. Heh, and you know that if he were to go the lin 8 or 9 times, he sure won't be missing 4 or 5 of them.

But yeah I agree, a lot of physical play down in the paint, and the Celtics got the short end of the calls. Still it's not because of the calls. Turnovers and losing KG handed the loss. Gotta give props to Deron Williams to finally decide to hit a clutch shot (over Allen). That guy is awesome.

MasterRyu, I agree on Ray...especially since he's been shooting it better than Pierce this year!

I'm going to start a thread on some of the problems we had in this game, but getting the ball to Ray certainly wasn't one of them. Ray was atrocious in that game, and it wasn't as if he didn't get any touches. The dude simply can't beat people off of the dribble anymore, and he looks like he's lost his legs overall. I have a bigger problem, though, with the "Get the ball to 'player x' concept" in general. We run WAY too many plays designed to get guys the ball in certain places as opposed to actually running an offense with some flow to it.

Agreed. Being the #1 seed and not having KG fully healthy would be useless. :-?

This is to Maxwell Smart. Do you ever read your own posts? You never post anything unless it's to say something negative about the refs.

Are you 8 years old? Do you ever think that the Celts might lose because they stunk it up and the other team didn't? I'm sure you could have something good to post without always blaming the refs for every Celt's loss.

Me too...I'd rather have the 2 or 3 seed WITH KG than the 1 without him...

Obviously not a Celtics fan!

But Maxwell is right, we did get robbed...the last 60 seconds of the first half were a mockery of the already pathetic officiating in the NBA...

It seems like Tommy Heinsohn has rubbed off on a lot of the Celtics fans.

Please, are you going to blame the refs everytime you lose? You guys shot MORE FTs in the 4th quarter than the Jazz did, don't blame the refs for missing them. That last no-call on Powe was correct; If you saw the replay, you'd see it was stripped cleanly.

I call that the Tyra Banks effect. It's ALWAYS about DICK whenever the guy officiates. Guy needs to retire 5 years ago.

But you could clearly hear the SLAP on his hand

I blame Stern, he wants to see a Kobe vs. Lebron in the Finals, we got Cheated. BOS-Conspiracy 101

The Jazz were getting most of the call though 3 quarters. However it evened out in the 4th and the celtics got a ridiculous amount of FT then.

Like I said before the celtics lost because:

They missed about 8 shots in a row in the 4th.
The biggest culprit being pp who missed about 6 shots he would normally make.
Celtics shot 65% from field.

I don't even think Jazz were getting calls in the 1st half, I didn't see the 3rd quarter so No comment there, there was 1 really bad call against I think Puritt when D-Will was rushing down court with like 9 sec left and got a call.

But in the 1st half the Jazz were just missing shots and taking bad shots. If anything were even it might have been argued between 3rd and 4th quarter.

I really am shocked PP missed all of those shots and one of them was like from the free throw line (where he absolutely sucked at) that hit the front rim then the backboard and almost rolled in...so close!

That one drove me nuts and really capped off a down night. One of the few times Paul didn't come up huge for us but there are going to be nights like that....in truth the C's out played the Jazz all game especially the first half.

Had the refs swallowed their whistles in the first half on both sides of the court the C's would be up 20ish in the first half and the Jazz would have down right quit that game and called it a night. That's how badly the Jazz were getting out played but the refs kept them in the game within striking distance until something weird happened and low and behold two weird things happen. KG gets hurt and PP can't make a jumper to save his life.
