O.T.: 97.1 Talk FM

I am a fairly new listener to the station but had become a big fan over the past year with this station. Listening to Adam Carolla in the morning and catching the other personalities like Frosty, Heidi, & Frank, Tom Leykis, and Tim Conway JR., has been a blast. Every one of those talk hosts have been amazing and hilarious. If you are avid listeners to the station, you then know that today is the last day that they will air this station. It will now be turning to a top 40 station =/

Just felt like making an appreciation and discussion thread to the station that has entertained many of us so cal listeners for the past years and so forth. Thank you 97.1 for being a big part of my life!

wow thanks for the heads up. I've listened to Leykis for years until I got sick of his tiresome format and stopped listening altogether. What will happen to the Leykis show?

funny that the Coralla show is cancelled. about a year ago he was ragging on a little San Diego radio station because they didn't pick up his show and instead decided to go with a couple of unknown local guys to start a Kevin and Bean inspired show (ironically Corolla was part of the K & B show success as Mr Bertram). now the Matt Diablo and Mahoney show is taking off in San Diego and Corollas show gets canned.

The whole Format was canned. There is no FM talk radio in LA anymore. You can have music/skit programmes such as mentioned above like Kev&Bean or go to AM for the Limbaugh-ish talk radio.
I always like Tim Conway's "What is Jesse Jackson saying" bits.... hilarious. I'd catch that on my way home.

I grew tired of people calling Leykis to talk about chicks and what not to do and do and how they bragged about what they did thanks to him. I did enjoy listening to him talk about sports, politics, or anything unrelated to sex.

What Frank from Frosty, Heidi, and Frank had said is that the reason the station is going under is because Leykis is the only one to not take a paycut. Carolla, Conway Jr, and F H & F all agreed but he was the only one not to and so the station is going under. Frank had just gone on a rant about how Leykis did everyone in just like 10 min ago.

I'm gonna miss all these people and hopefully the Leykis thing isn't true.

Frosty Heidi Frank are Solid with Upside are Bynum Ariza Farmar

Let's hope Kobe doesn't Leykis the Lakers and opt out for a team killing contract.

IDK, I am going to miss the Tom Leykis show. Take his advice with a grain of salt but the show was very very entertaining.

I only listen to TWO radio shows... The Loose Cannons and Tom Leykis show. What the **** am I gonna do now?

Leykis was an idiot. His reasoning was (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Most of the male callers sounded uneducated/uninformed. If anyone intelligent called presenting an argument against him, he would criticize their delivery and grammar instead of arguing the point. I am glad he is off the air. He was complete tool. All things aside, if you ignored the content, it was hilarious at times.

As for Adam Corolla, hasn't been the same since left Dr. Drew and "The Love Line" on KROQ.
