Personality, I believe Rivers and Ainge are making a mistake not seeing what they've in Giddens. You know what you've in Tony. Nothing wrong with finding minutes for both Pruitt and Giddens in the second half.

More then likely your just not getting a chance to see what they dont' see in the guy. The C's drafted him - they watched him work out - they see him in practice. Despite how some stars turn it on some in games - their dominance is still evident in practices and scrimmages.

99 out of 100 times its the GMS and coaches who get this right. Just think about recent Celtic history - Gerald Green, Marcus Banks, Gabe Pruitt, Patrick O'bryant. The more we see of thse guys the less people tend to like them....

If GMs were able to bring in players and have them scrimmage against other NBA teams and players then draft mistakes would drop WAY down. For every Reggie Lewis there are ten Gerald Greens..

Giddens could signify the beginning of the end for Ainge as it pertains to first round draft picks. The NBA may indeed revoke his privilege and allow Boston to only select in the second round as a mandated punishment. Boston's first round pick will be forfeited every year or it'll be awarded to another team in a separate lottery.

I don't know if Stern would take such a hard stand toward Ainge. But, I think he'll certainly want to speak with him in the immediate future if a pattern is identified in the next few years. Rivers could be subject to additional punishment if found that he and coaching staff were in any way intentionally not playing rookies no matter the round they were selected in.

Agreed, Pete. There is a reason Doc doesn't want to play Giddens and Walker. Remember, he had no such hesitation with playing Powe and Davis and Rondo when they were rooks, or Perk. They obviously showed something BEHIND THE SCENES of the game. Same deal with POB, all we ever heard out of practice is he couldn't run, was sucking wind, wasn't pushing it and giving it his all...could be similar things with Giddens and Walker for all we know...hell Scal gets more playing time than they do because, as limited as his talent is, he's obviously showing SOMETHING behind the scenes...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

true, maybe it just comes down to that, effort and hustle over pure talent. At any rate, Walker and Giddens aren't going to much, or any help come playoff time so whats the point. Neither is Gabe Pruitt. We have no backup PG and we have no backup 3 to cover LeBron when Pierce is on the bench in the ECF.

Walker hasn't been given an opportunity. Where are you getting that from? He has only played in garbage time outside of one game when he came in early and was pulled at after 1:30 minute.

Doc doesn't have faith in Walker and Giddens because we are playing for a title. We need to get vets for the title run.

Haha. Have you actually seen him play. I have. He isn't a pussy like Green. Giddens plays hard and in a great rebounder for a 2 guard.
