I don't know if Stern would take such a hard stand toward Ainge. But, I think he'll certainly want to speak with him in the immediate future if a pattern is identified in the next few years. Rivers could be subject to additional punishment if found that he and coaching staff were in any way intentionally not playing rookies no matter the round they were selected in.

99 out of 100 times its the GMS and coaches who get this right. Just think about recent Celtic history - Gerald Green, Marcus Banks, Gabe Pruitt, Patrick O'bryant. The more we see of thse guys the less people tend to like them....
If GMs were able to bring in players and have them scrimmage against other NBA teams and players then draft mistakes would drop WAY down. For every Reggie Lewis there are ten Gerald Greens..

Agreed, Pete. There is a reason Doc doesn't want to play Giddens and Walker. Remember, he had no such hesitation with playing Powe and Davis and Rondo when they were rooks, or Perk. They obviously showed something BEHIND THE SCENES of the game. Same deal with POB, all we ever heard out of practice is he couldn't run, was sucking wind, wasn't pushing it and giving it his all...could be similar things with Giddens and Walker for all we know...hell Scal gets more playing time than they do because, as limited as his talent is, he's obviously showing SOMETHING behind the scenes...
