Last game thread was started by a Kings fan (Drew Gooden fan anyway) hoping for that top pick. He went ahead and jinxed us into a win streak. That's okay, we get the Spurs and the Maser tomorrow, they seem to be immune to luck either way. But jeez man there's still a ton of season left, too much time left for meaningless win streaks, come on now...

Nice game from Dominic though.

Oh yeah, Mase is in town tomorrow. We are soooooooooo screwed. I'm calling 20+ pts and atleast 4 treys.

D-Mac (great all-around game)
AJ (typical productive game)
D-Song (solid support role)
Blatche (ups and down, still changes the game for better or worse when he's in)
Mike James (good to see him not settle for jumpers and attack the basket, assists are still low though)
J-Crit (his stat line never tells the whole story of what he brings to the court)

I hope you mean spots 2 and 3 will be tough to call, lol :D . Dmac wins #1 running away with it. We don't have a 15 point lead to take into the 4th if it wasn't for his/Blatche's hustle.

McGee's +/-:
In seven minutes:

wait for it...

-12!!!

only negative plus minus on the team...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

The Nets were horrible last night, they reminded me of how we were playing up until these past few games

well i think the key was jamison finding an opposing PF that he could handle defensively. 1-8 shooting for... Ryan Anderson?

True, Zonk. There are going to be nights when he is completely suck. However, I think that is beside the point. Now that the trade deadline is past, there is zero reason why Songalia should get any thing more than the occasional mop up minutes.

McGee needs to get minutes. He needs to be able to play through mistakes, to get torched now and then by savvy vets (like Duncan tonight) in order to learn and progress.

What is the plan? A 29 game winning streak? (Donkey's plan). We'll that would be ideal, although frankly something like a 23 game winning streak (without running the table) would be completely destructive. A sucky season followed by a late lottery pick in a weak draft year.

So, dealing in reality, our goals should be completely redefined for the second half of the year:
1. Lots of minutes to evaluate Crittenton.
2. Lots of minutes for McGee to develop.
3. Added minutes for Young and a regular spot in the rotation for Pech.
3. Diminish the wear and tear on Butler and Jamison.
4. Get Haywood and Gil back for about 12-15 games... long enough to evaluate what we have w/o sacrificing a high draft spot.
In Rizzo we trust

I like McGee a lot and I love his potential, but the kid has no clue about how to play the game. There was one play when VC shot the ball and only McGee and Boone were under the basket. McGee had inside position on Boone to get the rebound, but instead of boxing Boone out to get the rebound, McGee went to the other side of the basket where no one was, obviously thinking the ball might bounce off the rim that way. Instead, the ball bounced to where Boone was an Boone easily tipped it in. All McGee had to do was put a body on Boone and it would have been an easy rebound. It just amazes me how many players at this level still can't get the fundamentals down.

Return to Washington Wizards
