J Rich in dunk contest next year?

Post#1 » by Suns247 » Sat Feb 21, 2009 5:46 am

Tonight after the game, Ced Ceballos interviewed J Rich and said something to the extent of "Man, you were really flyin' out there tonight. LeBron says he is in for the dunk contest, how about you and an attempt at title number three?" and J Rich thought about it for a second, smiled, and said, "If Lebron is doing it, I'm doing it."

I don't know about anyone else, but the thought of those two guys in a dunk contest makes me really really excited. That contest could be epic. I realize its about 51 weeks away, but with all this Amare injury news and Shaq drama, I figured we could all use a little something to dream about.

I dunno, I don't think he has the hops like he used to, to do the creative ones...

Howard
LeBron
Josh
JRich
Gay
Westbrook

I'd like to see^ No more Sideshow Nate...and more dunkers or dunks FFS

I really hope its not Howard and nate again. Those guys are terrible dunkers who have to resort to props because they are not creative enough to come up with dunks.

I wanna see

Lebron
JRich
Wade
Kobe
Gay

maybe even Westbrook

Done with Dwight and Nate though.. That freak show is not amusing anymore

Nah Wade and Kobe wouldn't/shouldn't do it. They can't get up for the creative stuff like they used to, same with Vince...I HOPE James White is in the NBA for next year's comp

Gerald Green wasn't bad either

WHEN is someone going to actually dunk BEHIND the free throw line with space between their foot and the line? None of this on the line/over the line crap

Espn was talking about this earlier in the week.. They said that if Lebron were to do it, bigger names would follow. I assume Lebron would recruit some fellow all-stars who can provide more creativity than wearing a cape or storming into a booth.

How anyone can say that D12's dunks aren't creative is beyond me. Last years dunk comp was possibly the best of all time and certainly was the best in recent times. Has he anything more to offer should be the question. Heck, everyone said before last year that there was no way a 6'10"+ guy could win the dunk comp because they couldn't move enough through the air. Dwight certainly showed them.

I personally don't mind the little man dunks. It is awesome to see all that space between them and the floor. Having said that, Nate's step up dunk this year was ****, the others IMO were pretty freaking awesome. If someone taller had done them would they have looked as good? Possibly not, but I think the way a dunk looks is what people should be looking at, of course with throwing in some creativity to boot. A little man dunking is always gonna look pretty awesome, but when you get a guy like Dwight in there with a **** of creativity and hight it just makes it all that much more exciting.

If Lebron really does do the 2010 dunk contest then it doesn't matter who goes against him because he isn't going to lose. The guy is a freak of nature and nobody can beat what he will bring to the table. He is the definition of grace and power. This is what he does during WARM UP'S!

This guy would not lose in a dunk contest, ever.

Lebron saying he will be in the dunk contest is fair enough, I'm sure inviting himself will not find much opposition.

But honestly, for JRich he is inviting himself too and he isn't really in a place to do that. I think it will just embarass him when he's not invited.

Iggy did get robbed. I think D12's dunks are very good. The supper man one to me was not that great because he threw it in and did not get far enough to actually dunk it. I think that one is overrated. Best dunkers is MJ, D wilk and VC to me.

the dudes won the thing 2 times, I'm sure they'd let him back if he wanted to.

I wanna see Shaq enter the dunk contest, try to jump over somebody, then kill them in the ensuing collision
