Shaq drama?

Post#1 » by jazzy_jeff » Sat Feb 21, 2009 5:33 am

Just tuned in late to post-game show, and they're how Shaq doesn't consider himself part of the team anymore?

What? the guy had a good game tonight. this is the thing I was nervous about shaq crying. I think if amare was not hurt, he would be ok for now. I think he wanted to be traded and thinks his door for winning anohther championship is closing.

I don't know what the story is, if there is one. I haven't heard any quotes from Shaq, but that's what Bloom was talking about when he signed off post-game radio show tonight.

I thought Shaq looked like he was playing hard and enjoying himself tonight. When they went flat for that stretch of several minutes in 3rd and into 4th, he was the only thing they had going. They very well could have fallen behind in this game if not for him.

He is pouting over the trade rumors. Kerr will talk to him tomorrow and all will be fine.

Well, suck it up, Shaq.

For starters, they are just rummors.
For seconds, the fact the Suns didn't trade him speaks volumes about how much they value him.

No, it's the opposite: He DOES NOT want to be traded.

Gonna have to start calling him the Big Baby :-)

Nothing is ever fine with Shaq. He has burned every bridge he has ever crossed.

And yet he hardly played like a pouting player tonight....you never would have guessed he's unhappy based on his play alone

But his play alone isn't going to do it. If he's unhappy, he'd better get his head straight quick, because given the Amare situation, they need his leadership in the locker room

I had a feeling that Shaq would feel left out. But I believe that against teams like the Spurs and Celtics we will have to rely on Shaq alot. They'll be times where a good defensive team just locks down defensively and force the Suns to let Shaq work his magic downlow.

Changing gears is the #1 priority for the Suns, they have to know when to change gears.

He was insulted that his name came up in trade talks. He is refusing to talk to the media, apparently saying "Im not part of the team anymore."

He skipped talking to the press and cleared his locker out after the game, only leaving his "warmups and deoderant"

He doesnt seem to be mad at his teammates at all, if it wasnt apparent during tonights game. His beef looks to be strictly with SarvKerr and the media inflating the rumors.

I think he is trying to make a statement that he is not just another player/asset to SarvKerr. Im sure he thinks because of his career he has earned the right to say when or when not to trade him.

This team is a very tight knit crew, and has been year after year. The whole team gets bummed when a player gets shipped out. Its one of the friendliest teams in the league. Shaq only enhances that atmosphere and im sure he absolutely loves playing here.

20million dollars a year does sort of mean you do whatever the guy signing your checks wants you to do though.

I think he needs a reality check, he's a basketball player at the end of the day, and he has to do what he's told to do.

if this is true, he is a b1tch! the NBA is a business, get used to it...... sarver needs to cut costs, and full credit to him he decided to roll with what he had, but its a fact he needed to look at all options and cutting shaqs big contract was one of them and he did it

deal with it shaq and stop being a b1tch. Im so happy to have him on this team and he has a great role in run and gun ball, but you cant be complaining about trade talks when you have the biggest contract in the league that expires at the time when everyone wants space, and the owner is struggling with major financial hits

wheres the shaq that said he was a role player when he arrived in phoenix?

Shaq is arguably one of the three biggest names in the game and globally he may be closer to Ali - and he's got an ego to match. Probably unavoidable.
I think the whole thing is silly but so long as Shaq brings it on the court, pout away.

Sooo... its that time of the year again huh? The lets all hate on Shaq period.... it gets old... Porter is gone so now lets pick on Shaq... classic... Nash was still crying over the Bell/Diaw trade and i dont see a Nash Drama or I hate Nash thread here.... I would understand if the guy was not giving effor on the court or even if he was talking rap in the media like with Miami or LA, but thats not the case here.... Its all about having somebody to hate/blame...some "fans" we got here...

Because Nash was crying due to to basketball reasons and not having Diaw to replace Amare.

Shaq is bitching because he's Shaq.

get off your soapbox would you......

ill criticise anyone any time if they are acting like a child

im a true "fan" in every sense of the word..... shaq has said one thing last year and then acted another way this year. sure he has been great on the court which is awesome, but his latest attitude towards the coaching change and trade talk is childish and he deserves to be called out

I don't hate Shaq. I want to love Shaq.

Did Nash ever clean out his locker and refuse to speak to media?

What he is doing is absolutely childish and selfish. Trade rumors are part of the business and he should know better than most people having been in big trade talks through his career. It would be understandable IF he found out about the trade rumors on ESPN or something and not being told directly beforehand by Kerr, but if that's what's up then he should take it up with Kerr and Sarver and not immaturely clean out his locker. The locker room is important to the team, cleaning it out means the other guys on the team aren't his teammate, simple as that.

Shaq has been hinting he wants to go finish his career with the Lakers and now he's upset because the Suns were trying to trade him? He doesn't want to be here in the first place and most Suns fans never wanted him here and most of us I'm sure would rather have Marion over him. It seemed like the perfect fit to trade him, he doesn't want to be here and Suns fans don't want him here and now he pulls this crap? It's hard to root against him because he's on the Suns but I can't wait till he's gone.
