The one player that would put us over the top...

Post#1 » by sook » Sat Feb 21, 2009 9:43 pm

We have all the pieces and i see it coming together but we lack someone who can shoot on the spot, doesn't need the ball

Rip Hamilton.

Brooks
Hamilton
Artest
Scola
Yao

That is one hell of a scary ass offensive lineup

While I'd can perfectly well agree he'd help, we are past the deadline, so maybe wait till the offseason.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

exactly what i was thinking, Dumars and the rest of the league will want T-Mac's 23 mil expiring like hotcakes, but Morey already knows this.

Alston + Tmac gone = good news for the rockets

What about his defense? I don't know if he can defend well, but after watching ray allen blow by tmac, i'd take rip over him any day. Plus he's on team Jordan =)

Rip is a fiesty defender. He's not great, but his defense isn't a problem because he always puts forth effort. He's a fighter. Guys might get off on him from time to time, but he doesn't back down from anyone. The Pistons actually use him to guard LeBron a lot.

I agree, he'd be a great fit in Houston.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

He's the second 2010 option.
T-Mac's salary is way too high to trade him for Rip.
The Rockets aren't trading Battier for him.

Battier, as you probably know, is from Michigan. I remember at one point he said that he'd like to finish his career off with the Pistons.

I wouldn't trade Battier either, but it may come to that....

Vinsanity because he is the scorer we need to takeover at times. He is not as injury prone as T-mac.

No thank you.

We all know a player like Tmac will never fit in with Yao. The big Oaf is too selective. He needs Spotters that can curl off screens and knock down the J.

Rip can do that 50% of the time which is very efficient.
The reason i am saying this is because he is not the kind of player that screws up the Court like Kidd or Shaq. He is constantly on the move and can catch and shoot, our chemisty has been looking good the last couple of games.

But how can we possibly get him(Rip) this offseason?

We could have had Rip+Billups for Tmac+Alston easily in 2007 or 2008.
Now we have Lowry and an injured player.

So if that trade made the Pistons better at the time, why did we do it? If it made us better at the time, why did they do it? Prior to McGrady's injuries and Artest, I'm not sure if I'd have taken that or not, but the way that trade is set up, one side is almost certain to get screwed.

AI2. He could be the guy to run with Brooks on the Fast Break. He could be our to go-to-guy in crunch time. Lets face it. Ron Ron and Yao can't get it done in crunch time. Remember the indiana game. Ron couldnt stop Granger and Yao couldnt stop Murphy. 13 seconds to go Yao couldnt finish and IMO ron shouldnt have passed it to him.

I traded Tmac and a 1st round pick for Joe Johnson on NBA 2k9 and resigned Artest.

Waive Luther Head. Sign Mikki Moore.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Without question Kirk Hinrich.

Assuming Jeff Van Gundy was brought back.
