I'd Like To See

1st for them to sign Mikki Moore. Why? Because he is a seven footer who can run and defend. There is a reason he played well with the Nets and Kidd, they were a running team and he could outrun most PFs on the break. We have a guard named Rondo here that can push the ball with only Ray Allen to get out and run with him. Moore can start for this team and add this dimension to an already good halfcourt offense, not to mention Perk can give the second unit a low post scorer and dominate backup Centers. Moore can also hit a mid range jumper which would force teams to play him rather than a defender laying off Perk much like they do Rondo.

2nd if Smith becomes available, sign him too. Why not have both, it will solidify our frontcourt even more. We all know what he brings, so end of talk here.

3rd Sign Marbury if he gets bought out. Even if we fill the two spots above, unless Ainge knows something we don't, we can cut someone like Pruitt who has a team option for next year. If they want to cut big, then maybe Ainge decides now between Davis and Powe.

We really need a frontcourt player to start in place of Perkins. Rondo's guy isn't the only one doubling Pierce, Garnett, and Ray. If Rondo doesn't get enough respect for his jumper, we know Perkins isn't taking many jumpers, we need to fix this problem. I love Perk as much as everyone else, but we need to take some pressure off the big three so they don't have to work so hard. If we can get Smith and Moore, KG can guard Centers and not have to chase the perimeter as much as he does which will keep him fresher.
I like the looks of the big three with Rondo and Moore starting with a second unit of Marbury, House, Tony, Smith, and Perk as a second unit. This would make us a very dangerous team to beat.

No way in crud would we bring in someone to start over Perk, especially not Mikki Moore.. Perkins makes KG's game even better than it is, allowing him to play that roaming, hustle defense all over the floor while Perkins anchors the post, Mikki is no defensive anchor

Everything else i pretty much agree with though, id probably try to find out from Smith if hes coming before we sign Moore, but if its uncertain then sign him up.. and im all for picking up Marbury if he becomes available too.

I dont think we necissarily NEED both Moore and Smith, not to mention signing one probably hurts our chances of getting the other.. and Smith is definately the better of the 2.

would be good to have him if perk gets hurt.

i think we should sign all three of them. Just makes our bench better.

The ONLY beef I have with Perk is that when the starters are out there, they play 3 on 5 on offense because of Perk's raw game and Rondo's inexcusably horrid J...otherwise Perk's game is great, especially on the boards and D, so he needs to start. Rondo is the one who needs to step the **** up and learn how to shoot...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

^^^^ My point exactly for my idea. Last year Perk started to take jumpers because he can make them, and this was from incouragement from the coach and the team. If we are to reach our full potential something needs to change between Rondo and Perk. I have a feeling that his shoulder issues has something to do with his not taking jumpers anymore.

Well it seems Perk is at least willing to work and improve his offense, which this year is leaps and bounds above where it was last year, never mind when he came into the league. Rondo seems unable or unwilling (or both) to practice and develop a jumper, so I don't think anything is going to come of that anytime soon...so we need Perk to step it up in that department...4 on 5 is better than 3 on 5...
