Former Packer Don Beebe On Prepping Players for the NFL Combine

Former NFL wide receiver and the owner of "House of Speed", Don Beebe talks about prepping players for the NFL combine. Beebe talks to me about training Michael Turner, Tony Romo and more. Beebe also shares some of the House of Speed's lesser known success stories and the importance of guys with character. I have to say I love Don Beebe. He is a great guy and has so much insight into the game.

Orakpo out with injury.
Maualuga injured during 40 run.

Terrance Taylor a beastly 37 reps.

Terrance Taylor was a very good wrestler in high school, so he understands leverage, plays with good balance, and is very difficult to move off the ball. The problem is that he can't get off his blocks. I'd take him in the 4th round but he'll probably go before then.

I would take Taylor with one of our thirds.

As Wade said...he was a State champion wrestler, also 3 time state champion power lifter.

I like Clay Matthews.

As a football player that is.

Matthews is one of my favorite players in this entire draft. Too bad he'll go between our 1st and 2nd picks.

I wouldn't say Terrance Taylor has been very average. Inconsistent, yes. He played a really good nose in Lloyd Carr's scheme and then had a terrible senior season under Rodriguez.

Why didn't Beckum or Hill run 40's?

Beckum because of his injury - it just wouldn't have been smart for him to run it. He already boosted his stock with his weigh-in and bench reps. No need to risk anything.

Hill I'm not sure. Probably because he's slow and wants to mask that as much as possible. Would prefer people just to look at his pro-day number.
