"I feel like I'm getting my swag back, how I used to play. The coaching staff is letting me play my game, so I feel like I'm getting everything back. I've got a lot more to do." PG Javaris Crittenton.

So if DMAC has come a long ways ...
and Blatche has improved....
and now Crit

Is Tapps really that bad of a coach ?

You can't look at just the losses because he had no center, or PG and lost his best SG in Mason and even DS was injured.

But look at how these players are improving.

NY is really the only disappointment. For a second year guard, he is the one that is to up and down. But these other players are doing that Tapps preaches. They are becoming steady.

Everyone keeps saying backup of the future but supposing ongoing
development, I can see him as a starter next to Gil. He's about
the same size as LH or DeShawn, 6-5. He could defend either G.
With Gil, he could just always take the better offensive player
allowing Gil to conserve energy for charcoal on the grill.

The only problem with that is Gil likes to dominate the ball, and generally generates wide open perimeter shots for his mate in the backcourt. Crit doesn't have a reliable outside jumper yet, and is at his best with the ball in his hands.

is his shot worse than Hughes' was? Other than that, I agree with you.

Hughes didn't have consistent 3-ball range, but his 15-18 ft jumper was butter. Haven't seen that from Crit... at all really

not sure I agree

right now he just doesn't take many shots, (probably worried AJ/CB will get PO'd).
So I'd say insufficient data to make the judgement.

:)

not sure I agree on Hughes either. He was streaky. He had enough of
those 2-9 games (check last nights boxscore) when he was here to tell
me he didn't always take the best shots. But he could get hot too.
