Thats easy to say when you have probably never played bball in your life anywhere near the rim. Smith flat out gave him a stiff arm to the ground and because of that Harpring landed awkwardly on his back and hit his head on the floor. Had Smith not done that (the stiff arm) none of this would have happened. Thats the definition of excessive.

Did any of you catch that awesome story Locke talked about at the beginning of the show today?

He talked about whether fans ever wondered how competitive players really are and he went on to talk about how competitive Deron is. He said at a kids bday party that Im guessing Derons and Lockes daughters got invited to at Laser Quest...that Deron showed up in all black and was going at it with everybody. He even built a team with some of the kids and was sniping people...lol.

I just think thats a hilarious and goofy story.

Yeah, I heard them talking about it in the post game show.

Deron's a goofball, and he's probably the most entertaining player the Jazz have had to watch in god knows how long.

In my opinion Deron Williams is the best thing that has happened to this team since 1986. Wait to shoot the lights out tonight Jazz- good to see Korver back. If he keeps that up he could easily be one of our deadliest playoff weapons. Can't wait to play the nugs at full strength.

*EDIT* Woops- for some reason I thought we were playing the Mavs next and not the t-wolves.

Man, I loved seeing what this team is capable of when fully healthy. It's crazy how deep we are. Deron was great as usual, Brewer was sick, Korver finally got his shot going, Harpring might have had his best game of the season, Millsp was solid and AK quietly had a nice all-around game. Boozer was obviously rusty, but he pulled down some nice boards, he actually had some solid plays on d and you could tell the team was energized by his return. Most importantly, with Millsap moving back to the bench and Harpring finally showing signs of still being able to be a productive player, we might just have the best bench in the league. Once Boozer gets his legs back and shakes off the rust, our starting five will be just fine too.
I'm trying not to get too excited, but if everybody stays healthy and Korver can keep up the good shooting come playoff time, there's no limit to what we can do. We've got a legitimate superstar in D-Will, a great one-two punch (assuming Boozer gets back on top of his game) and more depth, balance and versatility than anybody in the league, with the possible exception of the Lakers.

That was a great win, but I'm over it now and looking forward to the game against Dallas, because in my eyes that has to be our REAL "statement" game. We need to prove to the league that we mean business and that we're not going to back down. It's time to start winning on the road, or we're easily looking at another 2nd round exit.

To be honest our road schedule from here on doesn't look too bad. The toughest games on the road don't come till the middle of March go on through the end of the season.

Wed 25 @ Minnesota 6:00pm FSN

March Opponent Time Local TV Nat TV Radio
Sun 01 @ Golden State 7:00pm FSN
Sun 08 @ Toronto 10:30am FSN
Tue 10 @ Indiana 5:00pm FSN
Wed 11 @ Atlanta 5:00pm FSN
Sat 14 @ Miami 11:00am FSN
Sun 15 @ Orlando 4:00pm FSN
Fri 20 @ Oklahoma City 6:00pm FSN
Wed 25 @ Phoenix 8:30pm KJZZ
Tue 31 @ Portland 8:00pm FSN

April
Thu 02 @ Denver 8:30pm
Sun 05 @ New Orleans 5:00pm FSN
Wed 08 @ Dallas 7:30pm KJZZ
Fri 10 @ San Antonio 6:30pm KJZZ
Tue 14 @ LA Lakers 8:30pm

I think we have a good shot of going atleast 8-7 on the road in this stretch.

If this team really wants to make noise in the playoffs, we are gonna have to do at least 8-7 on this road stretch. That's our achilles, and we need to get over it.

That road schedule doesnt really look too bad. Optomistically, I think we could go 10-5, but more than likely I think we will go at least 8-7.

I hate to say it but the Jazz should just as easily go 4-11 on those trips.

My Prediction:

@ Minnesota (Win, no Jefferson)
@ Golden State (Loss, They've been playing well, and back to back after playing Sacramento)
@ Toronto (Win, they've been bad this year)
@ Indiana (Win, even though this will be a tough game)
@ Atlanta (Loss, back to back after tough Indiana game)
@ Miami (Loss, haven't won in Miami since AK's all-star year, Wade kills us)
@ Orlando (Loss, back to back after Miami)
@ OKC (Win, we need revenge there)
@ Phoenix (Win against team with no Amar'e)
@ Portland (Loss, we have struggled there)
@ Denver (Loss, should be a good game but Nuggs are improved)
@ New Orleans (Win, we are better then they are)
@ Dallas (Loss, they play us tough, they should win this game)
@ San Antonio ( )
@ LA (Loss, only chance if if Lakers are resting players.)

I have them going 6-9.

The Jazz however could easily lose at Indiana, Toronto, Phoenix or New Orleans. And then all of a sudden the Jazz have a 2-9 record which is really terrible.

The good news is the Jazz have an easy home schedule from here on out.

I agree, Bat.

People don't seem to realize, but the Jazz' biggest problems have been road games versus the Eastern Conference. Remember the loss to a winless Wiz club? Hows about that joke of a game against New York? Or the way the Bobs bitch slap us every year.

We struggle on the road versus the East. We need to step up and show that we are making a leap. If we don't, this season has been basically meaningless.
