Could Brett Favre start for 22-24 teams now?

Post#1 » by Wade3Iverson » Sat Aug 25, 2007 4:24 pm

Sean Salisbury just said Brett Favre could start for 22-24 teams NOW....

Yay or nay?

I know I wouldn't want him starting for the Skins at this point in his career. Great player, not so great anymore. Hes seriously wasting Green Bays time just to chase all time records. He should retire and let Aaron Rodgers show if hes the future or not.

Well I'd say theres a lot of teams he could still perform well on, but he's not a top 10 QB in the league anymore. But his biggest issue is that Green Bay doesn't have a whole lot of offense for him to work with, so because of that he is always playing from behind. It don't take much to prove he's never performed great in comeback situations, he makes more mistakes than most because he takes too many risks late in games. I actually think he got too much credit for being better than what he actually ever was, but he was a very good QB at one point, I just never considered him to be one of the greatest to play the game like some did.

If you think Aaron Rodgers could run the Packers better than Brett Favre can, then you have to reconsider your state of mental health.

Hmm...

Chicago, Green Bay, Minnesota, Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Oakland, Kansas City.

9 teams. Buffalo and Miami are iffy. I'd probably go in the 10-12 range, but 22-24 is a bit ridiculous. You mean to tell me only 6 teams have a franchise quarterback?

Losman has improved, hes becoming a solid qb right now Favre wouldnt start over Losman in Buffalo.

I would take both Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens (backup) over Brett Favre in our offense. I agree with the rest of those choices though, except I think Delhomme is probably better for Carolina.

I think most of you should drop Detroit from the list. Just because the Packers had more wins last season, I don't think that means Favre could have done any better than Kitna did last year. Kitna is more mobile than Favre is and Favre would never get the chance to get off as many throws with accuracy that Kitna managed to do last season. So I'll stay with Kitna over Favre in Detroit at this point in their careers.

I don't think he'd start for Buffalo either.

He got that number because his concussions have led him to believe there's 63 NFL teams.

I'm in agreement with the 8-10 teams most posters here list, although it could be as many as a dozen.

How could he have gotten any concussions? He was on the field for, approximately, eight and a half minutes his entire career.

Unless someone kept hitting him with the clipboard he was holding for 10 years.

EDIT: Oh wait. He actually started for the Blue Bombers in the CFL and won a Grey Cup. So maybe he had some chances to get hurt then.

BTW, did you know this idiot gets paid $1 mil a year by ESPN?

If he can't start and run a pro offense after three years, then hes a collosal bust. Brett Favre is simply living off his name and old reputation. Hes an awfully below average QB at this point in his career. His supporting cast doesn't help either.

Like I said, hes being selfish and chasing all time records.

Based on winning it all this year.

Ravens
Browns
Steelers
Dolphins
Washington
Detriot
Chicago
Minnesota
Atlanta
Buffalo
Kansas City
Green Bay

Borderline

Arizona
Carolina
Houston
Jacksonville
Oakland
Denver
San fran
Tampa
Giants

All of the teams that are in the borderline could go either way, and for ONE year you could argue Favre could start for all those teams. That would be 21.

Maybe if you are a homer

(can they stay healthy?)
Phili, Jets

Enough experience to win it all?
San deigo, Titans

Overrated
Dallas

No doubt

Indy
Pats
Cini
New Orleans
Rams
Seahawks

If wanted to win it all THIS year, you could make the argument.

Your a Skins fan. Haven't tasted any real success in a long time. I'll forgive you.
