We can't afford Mike Bibby, Andre Miller or Jason Kidd, and none of the other free agent PG's this summer are better than Brooks.

I'd like the Rockets to draft AJ Abrams with their second round pick though. He might be another Brooks with better shooting.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

No to Abrams, not when we already have enough small guards. And Abrams is entirely an outside shooter with little dribble penetration. Even worse is that he's very inconsistent, and will struggle to get his shot off against bigger point guards.

As for Brooks, who thinks we will see a Devin Harris-esque improvement next year?

?

you're probably right about Abrams. He played really well against the Sooners so that's on my mind.

Our pick will be in the 40's or 50's anyway since we don't have a first rounder this year.

I'd really like Dexter Pittman as a backup for Yao but don't think he'd last until the late 2nd round,

Aubrey Coleman might be a good shooting guard pro prospect. Like a mini-Artest.

I meant someone from overseas. But on second thought i can't think of any pgs in europe who actually is ready for nba. Signing Eliyahu would be neat though. He was selected player of the month once in regular season and player of the week twice in the top 16. Since McGrady isn't going be around anymore I think we should go after him. His euroleague numbers are (26.4 min per game) 19 ppg 6.5 reb and 2.1 ast. He shoots the ball with %69 and is only 23 years old.

I'm not certain if Brooks can consistently put together a "breakout" type of post all-star season. He will have some outstanding games, but he'll also have those games where he completely disappears. However, he will have his opportunity to show what he's got. With him moving to the first unit, Von will be able to move to the 6th man spot full time as well. That will also be a good opportunity to show if he can be consistent. I'm looking forward to seeing what our youngins will produce.

One interesting thing to note is that Brooks shows the most chemistry with Landry, who has been out since Brooks got the starting nod.

Outside of that I expect Brooks shooting %'s to improve since he's starting now. Hopefully he works on finishing around the rim a bit more because he shown a lot of potential there.
