OT- Shaun Rogers Want Out of Cleveland
What do you think ? He has the 3-4 size we need. Motivation does seem to be a problem for him though. Do we offer a trade, let him hit the market, or just concentrate on the draft? Thoughts?

He's not going anywhere. It'll blow over. Not sure if any of you have read why he wants out of Cleveland, but' it's pretty f'n ridiculous.

I read what the papers said about Mangini ignoring him, but his friends said there was other problems he doesn't want to talk about.

Is he just not a NT?

76 tackles from the NT position seems very impressive.

Re: OT- Shaun Rogers Want Out of Cleveland
If he is a good 3-4 NT, I'd offer a 3rd for him and maybe sweeten the pot a bit if we were really sold on him. If you could solve your NT problems with a 3rd round pick then I wouldn't have any problems with it. I'd consider a 2nd.
It's not like he's a corner, QB, hell...any position but NT. You have chemistry issues to figure out but on defense you basically just say: "Plow the center", "Close up the right C-G gap", or "Close up the left C-G gap." I don't think it is more complicated than that in the 3-4, is it?

Yes he played NT and was in Pro Bowl. Had attitude questions in Detroit but not in Cleve that I know of. I'd easily trade a 3rd & 4th OR even a 2nd to get a ProBowl NT. He and Pickett would be outstanding combo! Also sign Igor and DL is set with proven vets. Still have 1st and 2nd OR 3rd for OLB.

I would offer them our 3rd round pick and see where that would get us. We would still have the other third rounder via the Jets.
I would love to have Gilbert Brown back, whoops I mean Shaun Rogers.
