1 last call Danny for Antoine.......

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:50 pm

Antoine Walker is playoff-eligible with a new team after reaching a buyout agreement with the Grizzlies in December, while players such as Robert Horry and Bryon Russell (who's trying to attempt a comeback after nearly three years out of the game because of a knee injury) are in a different category since they haven't been under contract this season. Sunday's waiver deadline doesn't impact them at all. ESPN.com

Lol, just give it up. Toine is not coming back to boston. He will sit there with David Ortiz and Vince Wilfork when the celtics are playing in the playoffs, but he will not suit up.

We have every chance in the world to win #18 without Toine. But if we don't, Ainge will be kicking himself for signing Mikki Moore over Toine.

Why? Mikki Moore is ten-fold more useful than Shimmy.

Lol, I loved Toine when he was here, but he's about a dozen cheeseburgers and a case of beer past being useful on a contending team. If we had an open roster spot to waste I'd almost be for it just so he has a chance to get a ring in Boston, he did give it his all when he was here, but I like Giddens and Billy to much to want to let them go. I wouldn't even give Gabe up.

Seriously, why the hell can't some of you just move on? He's done, he provides nothing to this team that we actually want, and he plays an already logjammed position for us at the 4. You're kidding yourself if you think he would guard 4s well, let alone 3s. Clutch shooting? You're bound to make some when you chuck up that many.

I'd give Antonie a shot, best case he can help a little, worse case he can towel wave with the best of them.

I'd personally love for Walker to get his career back on track, 32 is way to young to be out of the league because you wont get into shape and stay away from the 3pt line.

If Toine didn't get a ring with the heat, then I definitely would see it as a possibility. But since he already has a ring, and Ainge brought him back once before, I don't see Danny throwing Walker a bone.

Wow, I certainly wouldn't go that far, but I'd love to see him go out on top with the C's...

This is a disturbing thread. Here is a player who couldn't even get playing time on some of the worst teams in the league over the last couple of seasons.

This notion that he is some sort of special case because "being a Celtic meant something to him" is just plain ridiculous. He is a bad basketball player and has been for some time.

Personally, I tolerated when him when he was a Celtic but think he turned into a joke of a player later in his career. He could have been a great power forward if he had the brain to play how he should have as he had great hands and touch round the ring, was a great rebounder and good dribbling and passing ability.

The Rick Pitino/Jim O'Brien Celtics era was not that good and I am glad it is long dead. Waiving KG for Walker? Oh my god.

Well I thought that was ridiculous, too! (see above)
