A-Rod Really THAT Bad A Playoff Perfomer?

Post#1 » by brady212 » Tue Feb 3, 2009 9:41 pm

Ive always defended ARod to those "fans" who seem to blame him for everything, and its good to see that alot of the things I brought up in my arguments came up on this web site i ran across.

I'm just tired of the Brosius > A-Rod argument that sometimes come up. Do you you know that Brosius was a career .245 hitter in the postseason with a .696 OPS?! Thats terrible ! I'll take my chances with A-Rod over him any day.

i think its the perception of what people have of this player that clouds their judgement as a player.

do you agree?

People forget just how good our rotation was during the dynasty. They're shocked we lose series when we parade out Kevin Brown, Jared Wright, The Big Eunich, Corey Lidle (rip), 45 year old Clemens & countless other bums. Good pitching covers up a lot of subpar batting averages. Average to crappy pitching magnifies those averages. That's been this team's problem.

No Arod isn't a poor performer. He hasn't been any worse or any better than any Yankee since game 4 of ALCS in 2004. Against the Twins and those first 3 games against Boston, he played well. He had a couple home runs, drove in a few runs and played excellent baseball. -Jitpal
