NBA to borrow $175 mil

Post#1 » by eastsidecrossover » Thu Feb 26, 2009 8:26 pm

The nba is borrowing $175 million for 15 teams. One of them is the SUNS.
What does this mean for the nba and the suns in general??? Well, with the economy, I was wondering why stern could not get a piece of the obama stimulus package. Anyways, this might hint to the future of the suns organization and how FA might not get as big money as they have always got. For example, MLB players who thought they would get big money have not and are signing small contracts. Many are blaming the economy for this and teams are being cautious.

Each team will get 11.6 million each.

So is this bad or good for the game??? Big market teams such as NY and LA will be fine and might have the money to get even more talent. But that also means that maybe mid market teams like the suns can land some solid players down the road that they can afford.

Now I know many are going to clown on Sarver. That’s fine, but I believe this team would be different and in a similar situation under the C’s. I think they would have made different changes, but would still be no championship, a team that would ask for a piece of the pie in this loan.

They do not have issues in payroll, but they want the credit, and get a better rate because the nba gets a better credit then the suns on their own.
