So did we get full-on confirmation that he won't be back for the playoffs if we were to make it?

I don't think you should count on him coming back.

There is absolutely no chance he went that long with a detachment. None. It's impossible. A tiny, microscopic hole in his retina would end up causing a peel and detachment in, at the most, one month.
As far as playing basketball with a retina detachment, he couldn't, unless he shut his eye the entire time (and you can tell he doesn't). The detachment causes double vision.
On the other hand, if they are speaking about a totally different problem with his eye, I can believe that. If it's blurry vision, or something, then yes...understandable.
I just hope they aren't trying to say that Amare has had this detachment since 2003, because that is so far from the truth, it's mind-blowing.
No. The article above is simply talking about bad vision here. Not retinal detachment. In his left eye, not right.

I'm not counting on it. I just want the possibility officially shut off if it is, indeed, shut off.

He just needs to be reactivated.

Ah...thanks for clearing that up.

I'll guess and say it is to correct the vision or implant a lens.
