Room on the wagon?

Post#1 » by He Hate Me » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:35 am

I think there's been a conspiracy the past three weeks to attract every disenfranchised NBA fan to start to really appreciate the Rockets. Allow me to list everything I enjoy about this team.

1. Adleman. Man, I loved his Kings teams, he's one of those coaches whose teams play with relaxed discipline, heavily dependent on good fundamentals and spacing.

2. That Battier article really puts into perspective the Tmac-less rocket identity. Are they not polar opposite players?

3. Von Wafer, Lowry and Brooks seem to really have that spark plug thing going for them. Wafer reminds me of Courtney Alexander right down to the 30+ vert on his jumpshot... hope that turns out better for you.

4. Yao Ming. So good to watch a talented hugeman (bigman doesn't do him justice) really playing within the offense and getting such pretty looks. Is he more fun than Dwight to watch? In his own way, yes.

5. The overall non-floppiness of the team. Does anyone on this team flop, because from what I've seen they'd rather bump you hard than puss out to the floor. Man I miss that. Tonights matchup between Verajo and Scola is a microcosm for it all I suppose.

So, yeah. Wizards are done. I'm going to enjoy the NBA, and that means rooting for the Rockets.

Come on, just keep us under the radar. Also, we flop when we are being flopped against hard. No lie there, lol. But the rest is right.

There is already a "can you Houston Rockets win the NBA title" thread in the general board. I dont even think the most optimistic fan are thinking about a title right now. We always have some crazy mofo making threads like that to make us look bad.

Welcome aboard. It's always good to see new members on this board.
But just to let you know, there's gonna be ups and downs with this team. We've shown that we can beat just about any team in this league. Barring any future injuries, we'll have a good chance to get out of the first round; and that's our goal right now.

I hate people that see one good game, and expects a team to be a dynasty. So far this season we have been inconsistent. Lets make the Playoffs, and lets play the same before we talk about the 2nd round.

If you expect us to play like this day in and day out. You will be disappointed.

well, those of us without league pass and in a completely different region of the country have limited options brah. I hate when fans are overly protective of their favorite teams.

Nah, Max isn't being protective of the Rockets. He just doesn't want to see people jumping off the bandwagon when things don't go well.

Raptors fan here. Detroit dieing has given us life (only 3.5 back of the 9th teams!), but if we blow the hard 7 game stretch coming up, I'm on board baby! I want to see the look on TMac's face when the Rockets get past the 1st round without him. Go Rockets!!!
Hi, my name is Jose Calderon. I put up 9 assists a game on 50/40/90 %s while running the most stagnant and lifeless offense in the league and playing league worst defence

Don't tell anyone. It's our secret.

Bandwagoners come and go as they please....nothing us real fans can do or care about doing. Same thing happened with the 22 win streak so don't get too happy yet. I'm not being negative...I'm being a realist. Now, if we win the next 40 games....then hahah I'll really "get red"??

what does that even mean? =/

Knick fan, and when they don't make the playoffs..the Rockets will definitely be one of the teams I will be pulling for. I used to root under JVG, and I love Yao, Battier, and Artest's games; all three did a great job tonight. I'm with the other guy, I don't have league pass so I'm limited in what I see, but you guys seem to bring it hard.

Too bad we don't play like this all the time. Can't blame anyone since non Rockets fans don't watch us play all the time. We are inconsistent, especially in the 4th quarter. Got a double digit lead going into the 4th and end up giving up our lead. We lost like 4-5 games because of this.
