Foster/Rasho

Post#1 » by pacersrule08 » Fri Feb 27, 2009 12:47 am

I found this on hoopsworld

[The Nuggets also had substantial dialogue with regard to acquiring Jeff Foster from the Indiana Pacers. The Nuggets were willing to part with Petro and Steven Hunter in a deal along with both of the aforementioned draft picks. The deal was a complicated one and would have involved trade exceptions from both teams. In the end, it essentially would have amounted to a number of smaller, aggregated trades as opposed to one big trade. The bottom line is, though, Foster would have been on his way to Denver.

The Nuggets thought they were close to a deal for Foster when Tyson Chandler was dealt from New Orleans to Oklahoma City. However, when that trade was rescinded the Pacers backed away from talking with Denver and became more focused on trying to acquire Chandler in exchange for Rasho Nesterovic's expiring contract. Had the Chandler to Oklahoma City deal not been rescinded, the Nuggets very well could have worked out a deal for Foster.]

Good thing Foster's still here. Even if he sucks the rest of this season, the fans love him a great deal, and I think people underrate the power of a good locker room presence.

I'm glad Foster wasn't traded... even though I'm not big on his oncourt play, he is a great locker room presence and a fan favorite.

I'm really disappointed that pacersrule08 isn't a vicious little troll like count56. Those turkies entertain me.

count56 was the greatest troll ever, IMHO.

I could understand why one would choose pacersrule08. The capitalization is different, and at the time of the account creation, PR07 wasn't mod yet, and wasn't very active on these boards.

I like Foster, but I wouldn't be too mad anymore if we trade him. If we were a good team like in the past, he'd be great for us (or another playoff team). Looks like the Cavs need a big man with Big Ben out. If someone like Rasho clears waivers could we trade him to the Cavs?

That might just be baseball, I don't know. Plus I don't know if he'd clear or how it works.

It is just baseball. The NBA trading deadline is unlike MLB's--it's actually a deadline.

Yeah... Bummer, maybe we can make an illegal deal with them and be like "We'll release Rasho, but then you have to give us your draft picks for the rights to Stanko Barac this summer (which of course we would never do. Stanko will be a stud). Ehh, the Cavs pick won't even be a good one, so it'll be extra guaranteed salary for a few years.

Mcdew was ok... I would consider him as an obsessed fan boy rather than a troll...

I'm really sorry I missed the McLeod fan. He sounds like a riot.
