I'm more concerned with Marbs dealing by getting abused from Rondo in practice. Marb can't guard Rondo and with Marbs rust Rondo will pick the **** out of him.

Wouldn't be surprised if every practice Rondo is telling Marbs to warm his bench seat for him so he can be comfortable during halftime.

Rondo won't lose anything because of Marbury. But if Marbury plays on a solid level for a bench player and covers our needs ballhandling and scoring for the bench like planned, than Tony Allen won't be part of the playoff rotation (besides defending LeBron in spot minutes).

This acquisition is more contra Tony Allen than contra Rondo or House.

If anything I think this may light a fire under rondo and force him to step up his game a bit more. Going at Marbury every day in practice may start some mini competitions, which is good for Rondo. IMO.

Honestly, I think Marbury (if he will be in the good form) may actualy replace Rondo in some cases. For example, if Rondo would be injured (God forbid), in the slump, or simply cant get arround other teams defenders (good and quick taller defender on Rondo is a huge problem for Celtics, since Rondo is removed from the game, this wouldnt happen with Marbury). In most other cases Rondo minutes wont be affected by Marbury, other than getting enough rest with decent PG on the floor (House is anything but decent in this regard).
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?

Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.

Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

Boston keeping things exciting as per usual.

I cannot wait to see Marbury play, but I really think this is a huge gamble.

If the Celts do not repeat, people will blame Marbury no matter what.

I think the whole Marbury thing is again being overrated. Your fixating on the name not the player.

First of all he isn't 20/8 Steph anymore he is 16/5 Steph he just isn't better than Rondo anymore. Rondo just went for 15/7/10 for the month of FEB and shooting 54%. The one aspect of his game we hope is still stronger than Rondo is his scoring and he can make the most of that off the bench not setting up Pierce, Ray and KG.

The other issue is that for the first time in probably his whole life how he plays defense is going to be more important than how he plays offense. If he doesn't get that straight he isn't going to be able to play at all.

I am not worried about Marbury's affect on Rondo only the people that don't watch this team would be. He just outplayed a string of HOF and All Star PGs, but I am worried about how he impacts House. In that Clipper game House displayed a lot of the signs we saw last year when Sam was acquired. That hustle started to slack and he was more focused on trying to be a cute passer instead of just doing what he does. He is a confidence player without it he is useless.

Eddie isn't needed as a pg anymore with Marbury here, he needs to make shots to keep his mins, if not a healthy Tony Allen provides better size and defense and can at least score going to the hole.

I happy Marbury is finally joining us. He will give the bench a big lift and is a huge upgrade over Pruitt, who lacks confidence and experience.

Marbury will wear # 8.

Nice. That's what I thought he'd wear. Hopefully Antoine doesn't see somewhere wearing his jersey and want it back again.

He's not coming back so it's a non issue.

Return to Boston Celtics
