Randolph Morris and his future

What do you feel are the positives and negatives about his game. Hard to judge due to the lack of playing time. Do you feel he has a future here, or should we consider moving him on draft night?

I don't see where he's established any value where we could move him. What team would give up an asset to add him to the end of the bench in hopes he develops?

The few times I've seen him on the court he seems lacking in confidence and completely overmatched. I've not watched him closely enough to say what his pros and cons are though.

I still dont think he's much worse than Zaza, but Woodson aparently does.

^^^ That's unfair. Zaza has developed into a very nice backup center this season.

I'd still play Randolph play over Solo at times. He can't be much worse than him when he goes into "foul everyone in sight" mode.

Exactly.

At the risk of drawing laughter, I'd rather see if Chicago is willing to pay RFA Aaron Gray more than the minimum. It's not like we are an all-out running team and he's bigger/taller and shown more as a rebounder at the NBA level than either Solomon or Randolph (compare the number per 36 minutes and Gray is the only one average double figure rebounds (4 higher than the others)). I wouldn't spend a lot to attract Gray, but he's ahead of Randolph and Solomon in my eyes.

The only time I saw him play as a Hawk was a game in ATL I attended against Milwaukee, I wanna say he logged 17 seconds of playing time at the end of the game. When he was a Knick, IT coveted him as his "unofficial lottery pick". He just hasn't shown any confidence whatsoever from what I've seen. I still think he should be getting some minutes if the Hawks are so fond with playing a guy like Solo Jones.

With 3 years of collge experience, he should have had more of an impact than he has had at 6'11".
I thought he would be a good half court guy, but he doesn't appear to bring any energy to the game.
He seems very uncomfortable facing the basket around the foul lane and after watching him at Kentucky, I thought he would be a nice find to play here.
Apparently playing with Dwight and Smoove in AAU really didn't expose his limitations as I thought all 3 would be in the NBA some day. Well, they are, and all 3 aren't at the same level. They are each at their own level.
I would like to see Randolph play more minutes based on his size alone to see if he can do some positive things, but we know Woody has ZERO confidence in him right now. He does have $$ thru next year coming to him, so he might get more time in the future here.

Hes just simply not that good. Every once in a while a player agent finds a loophole in the rules and through various circumstances gets a not that great player guaranteed money. Single greatest example ever; Google- Cezary Trybanski signs a 3 year contract with Memphis. His agent actually managed to get him from being considered for the draft and then got him a 3 year, $4.8 mil total contract. He played 101 minutes in the NBA, lasting 2 season and many teams.

The Knicks and Hawks didn't give him insane money, but without all the good and bad PR he had at Kentucky he'd have been lucky to be a top 50 pick in 2007.

He'll bounce around the NBA for a while thanks to "upside", but I don't think he'll ever be a good rotation player.

Nah, life's not always fair. Morris is 6'11" and can chew gum and walk at the same time. He'll be in the NBA for a long time. If we give up on him, there'll always be another coach who'll think he can coach him up.

The only good thing about Randolph Morris is he makes me feel better about anything stupid I ever did on a basketball court.
