Does it have Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom?

Unfortunately, no. Hudson does have a bunch of titles on VC, so I bet it makes it eventually. Found this:

Can't believe Battletoads isn't up there yet, tbh.

Ha, damn walt lol. I had that up for like 10 seconds before I just edited it out cause I didn't want to be a negative nancy. For those inquiring minds all I was saying was that I've had a wii but it's been mostly unused. I've got zelda, mario, mario party, smash brothers and a few other games. I was just disappointed because it's turned out to be the same situation as the other nintendo consoles even though it's selling like hotcakes. Nintendo games are ususally good but few and far between and the 3rd party games while plentiful now, most of them just aren't up to snuff.

Trauma Center was fun like Walt mentioned and Smash Brothers for sure. It's a fighting game but the single player is fun.

Yea, you got busted :D

When I play wii, I pretend I'm playing an arcade system in the comfy confines of my own room without having to keep dropping coins to play or take up a ton of space. I definitely have to be in the mood for it, but sometimes it's exactly what I want. I also find myself being unable to veg out and game for long periods of time, but I imagine this is yet another reason why it's done so well with nontraditional gamers.

I havn't looked at the VC. What is it. Is it like Xbox Arcade where you buy the games or can you just play any old games in their library for free? I'm not very big on going back and playing old titles. Never have been but it sounds interesting.

Took some time off after that Orlando game :nonono:
Looking back at the OT board I realized I left some loose ends, let me address them.

Fats- I wrote that M$ “ought to have a 3 year warranty” on the 360, but by that I meant do. http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/05/xbox ... ree-years/
I had the same problem and M$ took care of it, surprisingly quickly too.

e4 recommendations-The only strategy game I can remember playing on 360 is LOTR: Battle for Middle earth 2. CPUs get the best strategy/simulation games. As far as RPG type games go, I found Fable II disappointing. Fallout 3 is on my list, I’ve only heard/read awesome things. Paydro and I played the hell out of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance before he moved (It’s an action rpg). Dynasty/Samurai Warriors are total hack-n-slash games, but the Empires game(s) for each franchise are pretty interesting. DW5: E rocked my world when I got it and was my introduction to the franchise, SW2: E improves on this greatly, but probably DW6: E will take the cake and it’s coming out soonish. Other than those, I guess I mostly play sports games (and by this I mean 2k).

Gears of War and BioShock are games I’ve dabbled in with friends that are immensely popular, but not really my thing.

Chabber-I’ll add SFII V to my list. I’m quite certain I’ve seen episodes on tv before and didn’t dislike them (that era of animation makes me so nostalgic, it becomes saturday morning watching X-Men all over again or school just ended and Batman:TAS is coming on).

VC is really similar to XBA, don’t think it allows you to demo games though. I don’t use it very often but I think it has a lot of potential as the game catalog grows. Like, I don’t have an N64 anymore, but I could see myself playing LoZ:OoT again. At $10, it makes more sense to just buy it on the Virtual console since it’s just as expensive on ebay without including shipping and the instant gratification aspect. I can also see myself paying $8 some day to play ToeJam & Earl again.

thanks walt. i havent called MS yet, but plan to this week. on their site they made it sound like the extended 3 year warranty only applied to the red ring of death problem. i hope that's not the case.

i'll be getting mario kart in the mail for wii this week. until then maybe i'll hook up the ps2 and finally finish god of war (i'm like 75% finished).

i really enjoyed bioshock. only played the single player, but it was fun.

Don't know how I missed this. Sorry Walt.

Playing with a familiar character I'll go through on medium. With someone I don't know or when I was unlocking Akuma and Gouken I put it on very easy. It seems to me that the Boss doesn't really change much from very easy to medium. He's still a cheesy bastard no matter what. I might try out hard tonight and see how I do. I just hope I don't run into Zangief like you were saying. Dude is a beast in this game. I can't pull off his super or ultra for anything.

I'm not that great at SF though. I have a lot of friends that grew up hanging at the arcade and were constantly in tournaments for all these games. I'm no where near their level. They kick my ass all over the place and know integral combos for each character. If I get that way with one toon in this game I'll be happy.

Oh yeah, I've been re-watching that SF V series I told you about. Not as fun by myself as it was watching it with some of my friends but I still dig the goofiness and cheese. If you don't like SF characters though I'd definitely look elsewhere. It's not exactly what I'd call "good" anime but it can be enjoyable.

I've been using my appletv to catch up on all of those other shows I've been watching lately (Life, Jericho, Fringe) b/c I got a good amount of itunes gift cards from people for the holidays. When I decided the atv was more my style than netflix or whatever I used my reward points from my cc on more itunes cards, so I have a ton of credit left. I was highly considering SF V when I was browsing through the other day and saw it had been added, but X-Men (the awesome animated series) was up there to so I decided to mull it over. I saw today that buena vista was finally cashing in on their X-M:TAS cow at the end of April (28th or 29th, first 33 episodes!!), so I'm going to pull the trigger. I'm not a very experienced anime viewer (outside of the cartoons I watched as a kid I've pretty much only watched Miyazaki films) so I think I'll definitely find it enjoyable.

I've been reading all over internet forums where people claim that Seth is always challenging no matter what the difficulty is and that they've been dropping levels in order to unlock the additional characters quicker. I was just balling with one of my friends who is roommates with SF junkies that play in tournaments and stuff and he said that all of them just dropped the difficulty to go ahead and unlock everyone...so him saying that and then me reading what you wrote has me thinking that's the appropriate course of action for me. I didn't want to "cheat" myself out of the experience if other people were breezing through arcade mode since I just thought I needed to put in more practice and get better, but damn Zangief and Abel are brutal on default and it was making me get all down on myself as a gamer because they constantly beat me down! :D

I hear ya. I don't like to cheapen the experience normally either but after trying to get through with guys I just don't know how to play and have no real desire to learn I didn't care anymore lol. As long as I can get good with who I want then it doesn't matter to me.

Btw have you played online at all? A ton of people end up picking Ken (like me :D) a lot. I don't mind it cause it makes sense since he's a basic staple character that people are trying to learn. However as you know people get tired of fighting the same dude over and over and someone made this Ken Fight Flow Chart that I thought was funny.

Image

Anyway I started on the hardest difficulty with Akuma last night and hadn't lost until I ran into.......Zangief. 6 losses later and I had to stop because I was heading off to see Slumdog. Pretty good movie actually. I was shocked that I'd enjoy a movie that's premise came from, "Who wants to be a millionaire". Anyway the film came off of the roll and was delayed about 5 minutes so I got a free pass for my next movie. YAY! Won't be going tonight though. I'll restart my quest for conquering the hardest difficulty but this time the Red Cyclone better be prepared! I just hope I'm done before BSG starts. That should give me about 4 hours starting when I get home.

You're gonna need all 4 hours !! :D

The gf and I watched episode 1 of SF II V last night. It was incredibly entertaining. Ken is so gay for Ryu, but then Ryu splooged himself when he saw Ken's limo. I'm lovin the intro so far.

I haven't taken my game online yet, wanted to become proficient with a couple of guys first but I've read all about peoples experiences running into Ken and Sagat all of the time. Awesome flow chart! :D

BSG should be good tonight. I liked last week's episode more than most I think, the one before that set such a high standard that a lot of folks I talk to were let down I guess.

Haha, sounds like you guys enjoyed yourselves. It's cool cause they act like that the whole time. Wait till they scratch the back of their heads and do the thumbs up routine. My friends and I still do that to this day. lol. I finished watching through the last disc last night. I had to start fast forwarding through some stuff though because it starts drawing things out big time.

I went to my friends place after work instead of playing SF tonight so that mission is on hold. I did play a BSG board game though which is awesome fun. Up to 6 players and up to 3 can turn out to be cylons which is the key part of the game because you don't know who the cylons are until they decide to reveal themselves or you figure it out. Makes it a blast especially if you've got some really good liars as friends. Anyway lots of deception can be had and of course the point is to either irradicate the humans if your a cylon or survive to earth if your human.

Watching the game now and at some point I'm gonna start up BSG. I enjoyed last weeks as well but yeah the week before was just great. Brother hat errr Cavil's dialogue about wanting to see the star go supernova was excellent writing. That and I thought that Ellen did an amazing job with her creator role. I got chills when she said she loved them because she made them and I'm not what you'd call a religious person.

I haven't seen this weeks BSG yet still, probably won't get to it until tomorrow either. Past couple of times I've gone to my nearest book store I've seen the BSG game and did some research to find out that it's a pretty well made game. Human's survive if they reach Earth, huh? :D

Been able to get a good amount of SFiv work in today. Been using Zangief. I can throw the 720 moves pretty regularly, the key for me is to do the stick move while jumping in, definitely can't do it otherwise.

All this street fighting makes me remember that I found MMA intriguing. I know it was last brought up during the time of the last ppv, but are there any weekly shows anyone tries to catch? I don't even know what to look for...
