Marbury

Post#1 » by dpaulh » Sat Feb 28, 2009 12:45 am

Im pretty sure that I already know what kind of reaction this will get, but what about Marbury next year? What if he comes into Boston and proves hes ready to play the right way? I dont think he would be too, too expensive with the character doubts, and he is the type of PG woody would love.

He creates matchup problems and is able to post up and back down most other PGs...

Just playing a little devil's advocate, comments?

I like Marbury, as a player. Outside of that he is really really crazy. T.V. interviews is enough said about that. But if he can, and wants to, play nice here, I wouldnt mind for a one year contract, just in case we have to waive him.

He's shown a tendency to over-dribble quite a bit in his career derailing team offense, but if he was motivated to prove that he's not the guy he was made out to be in New York he could be interesting. Wouldn't be my first, second, or third choice to sign, but I'd take a chance on him before paying Iverson.

I appreciate his craziness, too many athletes are boring or hide who they are.
