Cornbread vs. Rondo

Post#1 » by WHambone » Sat Feb 28, 2009 5:23 am

From the Celtics blog on boston.com:

A bizarre incident between Rajon Rondo and Celtics radio broadcaster Cedric Maxwell. Rondo had some harsh words for Maxwell as he headed into the showers, and the point guard did not appear to be joking. Definitely some tension in the room.

Anyone know the story here?

Wow, just read this. I don't know.

Rondo has been getting into some matches lately though. First Kobe, then another celtic I believe, and now Max.

I am sure they will make up.

rondo has an edge to him... there's no question about it. Hopefully he doesn't implode one day but his reputation has always been that he's difficult. On the other hand conrbread can run his mouth pretty good and he's been known to say a bunch of stupid $*** over the years like Nowitski is better than bird etc so much as I love cedric he can be a pain
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

Haha jesus when I opened this thread, I knew what the title was but for a split second my mind wandered, and for whatever reason I thought it was Cornbread vs Steph. I was gonna start crying.

I just thought Rondo was trying to maintain a no-carb diet and had some struggles with his love for cornbread. Maybe try rice cakes instead.

Watch Rondo become the malcontent - not marbury

knock on wood

but seriously Rondo needs to worry about the team , not the media.

Cornbread can say some intresting things.

He might of said something to the effect with shooting like that enjoy your team on the bench watching our new real PG.

I can see Rondo going off to a remark like that from someone like Maxwell.

Once I went hiking up in the White Mountains with a group and the lodge we were staying at cooked up a big pan of cornbread for us to eat as a side for lunch. Later that night I snuck a peak at the "preview" menu and noticed it included chicken pizza (as an aside, if you like buffalo chicken and haven't tried Pizza Hut's buffalo chicken pizza, do. it. now.). Turns out, the "chicken pizza" was actually the leftover cornbread with cheese and chicken on top. I've never been so disgusted with false culinary advertising.

I love cornbread with jalapeƱos in it, too. Or Pepper Jack (Cheddar cheese with jalapeƱos.) Or any hot pepper, really. I don't like it hot just to be hot. It has to have flavor.

My dad's side of the family sends me care packages up from Bim from time to time. I have fallen in love with this Trini hot sauce called Matouk's. It's made with scotch bonnet peppers (the peppers traditionally used when making Jamaican jerk chicken.) If you are fan of pepper taste, can stand the heat and you can find it, I highly recommend it.

I get my love of peppers from my dad. Ever since I was young, we have always had a jar of white vinegar filled with sliced up scotch bonnets, garlic cloves and scallions. Drizzle a bit on your food in lieu of hot sauce. Aye cucumba!

Back to the topic, I read on another board that Grande and Maxwell addressed this on their broadcast. Apparently, Rondo and Maxwell were play fighting about a poker game.
