Luther Head Waived

Post#1 » by evildallas » Sun Mar 1, 2009 5:34 pm

He's been injured most of the season and he isn't what we need right now (meaning he's not a big), but I wanted to point it out because I know some Hawks fans have mentioned him as a target in the past.

I like Luther Head, but I don't feel he's needed here, and would prefer us to pursue other players that fill the needs of this team. Options are very limited and the better players are going to opt to join true finals contenders.

Miami seemed to have an interest for Luther Head.

Looking back at the 2006 NBA draft I remember a rumored trade that never happened. The rumor was Luther Head and Houston's 8th overall pick to us for the 5th overall pick. Whenever I think about Luther I think about that rumor.

Head will choose between Milwaukee, Miami, Dallas, San Antonio and possibly Charlotte. He turned New Jersey down today.

Don't torture yourself. Even if we'd made that trade, we wouldn't have drafted Gay. We were set on getting a big man (me too, I confess).
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Yep, it is doubtful that someone would have taken Shelden before #8 and saved BK from himself. Although Luther + Shelden may have given us a viable guard that would have freed up the 2007 #11 from being used on Acie Law.

HMFFL, I think of that trade as well.

We're probably the only ones on RealGM that don't automatically think of "Head" jokes when we hear his name.

Well he picked Miami fellas. The articles are saying that roughly a dozen teams had an interest for me so I wonder if we happened to be one.
