B.Walker is gettin no respect.

Post#1 » by SLCceltic » Sun Mar 1, 2009 4:53 pm

All this talk about acquiring another reserve to guard LaFawn and give about 10 min off the bench seems crazy and disrespectful to Walker IMO.

The guy is fearless and will attack hard impacting both ends.
He is more atheletic than GeBrony (Bon Bon is bigger and stronger) and should slow him down some.

Last year it was Posey's length and smarts that helped Pierce out.
Walkers atheleticism and fearlessness should be enough for 8-10m a game.
Am I all alone on this; it sure seems so.

I don't think BILL walker is seasoned enough to trust in the playoffs. He's too much of a gamble. I'd rather bring in a Vet to fill the spot whose been to the dance. Plus Bill would get too many rookie calls.

Bill Walker would foul out in 5 minutes trying to guard LeBron.

You have to earn respect. As of right now, BW has earned absolutely nothing.

I play Arena Football, my position is l.corner. A huge way to determine where DBs play is their fluidity during agility drills.
The most fluid are obviously the corners---they are able to swivel, change direction in stride running backwards in either direction, etc
The bigger upfield pursuing DBs are the Safeties, these guys are atheletic, but stiffer

Walker is more fluidly able to move his body and change direction on the floor or in the air than gibrony---sorry but that is just how it is
Brony has stiffer Atheleticism (Kinda like Magic Johnson) but is bigger and stronger than anyone guarding him (except maybe Artest, and we all saw how much Bon Bron suxed against Artest last weak); that is what allows him to do what he does

It would be very challenging for me to guard him as a receiver
Im 5'9 185
His strength would make him dam near impossible to jam.
His height would give me a ton of trouble on jump balls
but
I could stay with his non-agile ass step for step in coverage----he could never get seperation in man-up situations

IMO the more fluid and agile, the more atheletic----you must have some other standard of atheleticism

I think Bill is going to be good, but we aren't a rebuilding team that can risk playing him in crucial games. I can't for the life of me think of anyone other then Bonzi Wells that is available. Does a person have to be waived today to be on a playofff roster?

I know that people aren't a fan of Ruben Patterson because of his past endeavors, but he is the self proclaimed Kobe-stopper. Maybe he could help fill in until Bill Walker is ready.

You're completely wrong.

LeBron is faster, stronger, bigger, and jumps higher than Bill Walker. It's that simple.

Come on canman, look at what he did in pre-season and in the D-League (the only time he got consistent play)
What Im saying is that the skill set for what we are needing is there and he has a great attitute
Carve out 5-10 minutes giving him a well defined role each night
With 22 games to go he would be able to contribute (for defensive purposes at least) by the playoffs

Nothing intimidates him

he played well in preseason and hasn't really gotten much of a chance since then. he's only played in 10 nba games and is averaging 6.6 minutes in them. he did play well in the nbdl. i think he deserves some more pt.

He hasn`t done anything. Even when he got garbage time minutes he looked lost. There is no way he gets any minutes in the playoffs. He has to show first that he can play in this league...

I think Walker will see some time now with Marbury running the 2nd unit. I'd love to see...

Respect? For a Rookie? 2nd rounder? Bahahaha.

And when you make a post, hit submit, and then read it and realize you yourself don't know who the heck you are talking about - it is a sign that you need to think a bit more before hitting 'submit'.

Also - people need to wake up and figure out there is no more additions coming. This is the team. Learn to love it. I don't think DA/Doc even Want to have to work another new guy into our chemistry. Bonzi Wells nor Ruben Patterson are walking through that door. (and thank goodness).

None of them are faster, stronger, AND bigger than LeBron. And none of them jump higher.
