Going to the 3/20 Pacers/Mavs game. A few questions guys...

Post#1 » by slickrickstyles » Sun Mar 1, 2009 9:08 pm

Okay so for Valentines Day my girlfriend suprises me with 2 tickets to the Pacers/Mavs 3/20 game. We live roughly 3 hours away in Illinois and will be making the trip with the intentions of staying in Indy that night instead of having to drive back home after the game...can anyone familiar with the area suggest some hotels that are not outrageously priced and are near the arena...considering we will just be returning to the hotel to sleep anyway i dont see the need to pay hundreds of dollars just to do so...were the type of people that would rather sleep in the car then blow high amounts of money like that on unnecessary luxuries.

by the way were going to be in section 101 row 12 so if your familiar with this location inside the arena you can give some details about that as well if you like...like if you think binoculars would be needed or any other info...

this will be my first time in Conseco, and my first Pacers game since the Market Square days so im really excited.

Thanks guys for the help and ill be sure to cheer loud and proud come March 20th.

Don't know about the hotel question as I don't really need one, but I will be in Section 101 Row 4 tonight so I'll let you know how the seats are. I really don't think binoculars are appropriate if I'm thinking about the right section, but I could be thinking of the wrong one.

Binoculars shouldn't be an issue as there really isn't a bad seat in Conseco.

Make sure you give yourself time to walk around and check out all the memorabilia. There's a lot of good things to see.

The seats were really pretty good. Binoculars would definitely be more of a hassle to get through security than they'd be worth. I could see the reactions on the players faces and make out some of what they were saying from where I was sitting. A guy did spill beer on my friends and I, but with my luck it wouldn't be right if it didn't happen at some point in the game.

I wouldn't bring binoculars unless you have the kind where you can put some booze and bring it in. That would be the only use from most seats.
