Praying the Suns don't get the 8th seed...

Post#1 » by LL Cool Scott » Sun Mar 1, 2009 10:59 pm

The Lakes won't lose a 7 game series, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes them 6 games to beat the Suns. The chemistry the Suns have right now; the motivation Shaq will have in that series; the passion they'll play with to show that Gentry needs to be hired full-time next year. That series could be scarier than it looks on paper...

Exactly, if Bynum is around come playoff time it won't be a problem.

However, I am not that optimistic and don't think hell be back until the finals.

Correction: not with a HEALTHY Bynum in the lineup. He's not going to just step in and be the force he was before the injury. And there's going to be an adjustment period where he has to be worked back into the rotation and other players have to adjust to playing with him again.

He won't be back to that dominant level until next year, if he gets back to that level at all. 7 footers with injury issues don't have a great track record, historically (see - Bowie, Walton, McHale, Sampson, Oden, Jermaine O'Neal)

Why I'm not concerned.

Minus Kobe and Pau, every other Laker had a three foot pole up their ass today.

Matt Barnes played like he will never play again.

Grant Hill somehow lost ten years.

Andrew Bynum will be better able to contain Shaq.

This game again meant more to them than it did us.....I really wish Phil could better motivate this team to care when it's clear we don't. It's not an object of player leadership because the way Kobe came out, this team should've been fired up......Nope.

Lastly......

DJ MBENGA WONT EVER HAVE TO SEE THE FLOOR WITH BYNUM HEALTHY.

I don't fear the Suns in a seven game series. We'll exploit their weakness big time mainly their lack of bench depth, and the fact their older guys will have to play big minutes.

:D Don't worry about the Nugs, they'll fold in the playoffs like the always do. Melo just doesn't have that drive to make his team great. The Spurs are another story. No matter how old they get, they just keep winning. It defies logic.

(by the way - I don't think the Suns have a chance in hell of winning a 7 game series, I just think they'll make it a little more interesting than the gross mismatch it looks like on paper)

We went 3-1 against them in the regular season so I'm not too worried about just this game. always hard to sweep a team anyways. I just hope we pick it up against memphis teusday.

Side Note: i would hate to play the Jazz in the first round though,

He's really not laka4life. He needs more playing time. When we played them @ Staples he did a great job against Shaq. He always brings defense & rebounding. Most people only look @ scoring but he brings what we need. We have enough scorers.

 Fair weather fans butter. We win we're the greatest team alive. We lose, uh oh we better not see this team in the playoffs. I don't fear them either, if we see them in the 1st round, the Suns will set in 4 games!

He brings fouls, turnovers, airballed jumpers (yes you saw that today) and no chance at any offensive production. If he's in the game, we have to have Pau with him because his offensive defincies are like playing four on five.

It's not even like he's a great rebounder. If ur tryin to tell me Bynum instead of Mbenga isn't much of a change, I really don't know how to reply

Didn't we just blow this team out a few days ago w/o our center.

Didn't we beat them earlier when they were healthy?

Please no way they make it pass 5 games.

Stop reading more into it than what I said. I just told you we have enough scorers so let me break it down in remedial terms for you. That means he's not a good scorer. You didn't have anything to say when he played well last game. Yes he brings fouls but usuall good hard fouls, every teams needs that. If you even begin to think I said it's not much of a difference between him & Bynum, you need to highlight that & show me. He's way better than Chris Mihm & I like his energy is he a good player, not really but he fits when needed. Yes we would need Pau in with him or even Powell. His offensive production is inept at best so you use certain players for what they are worth. Understand the post B4 ridiculing it .

Dude comprehend the post by anklebreaker. That's not even remotely close to what he meant. Yeah everybody knows Bynum is much better than DJ, but with Bynum being out we have to use him and the skill set that he brings.

Too many of you guys look for everybody to score all the time..............news flash that's not what we have DJ for. He's on the floor to clog the lane on defense and to offer secondary help. We have enough scores on this team, what ever DJ adds in scoring is gravy just like on Thursday against the Suns . If DJ was as bad as you make him out to be he would've been casted off before his contract was set for the rest of the season.

i think we are having trouble with pheonix and denver lately becuase
chrris mihm who we all might think is worthless, was not a liability, and therefore allowed us to use him as a guy that would play 5 clean minutes without messing up too bad, but with dj he makes many costly mistakes when hes out there. what i mnean by that is if kobe passes it to mihm, he trusts that he knows that to do next, but with dj once he messes up once kobe hesitates to get him the ball which efffects the way he treats (passes to) the whole team.

Dude MBenga played only 7 minutes today...................that's hardly enough time to be a liability. Mihm was awful in his last days as a Laker, he was nothing more than dunk bait. MBenga did more in the few minutes he got against Phoenix on Thursday than Mihm did the last month he was here.

Come on man get off the Mihm bandwagon.
