HUGE win today against UNC. With the wins over Michigan State and UNC, the Terps MAY have enough to get in.

Freaking incredible win.

Vasquez may be streaky, but when he's on, he's ON.

And yes, mhd, the Terps now have a window for the tourney.

Beat Duke and we're in.

EDIT: And Cliff M'Fing Tucker for the win.

They have to beat State and UVA on the road.

i know they have a Duke and Wake game left. Do they have 2 others (State and UVA) as well? Finish .500 in the ACC and they're in - or at least one-foot-in-one-foot-out depending on tournament upsets.

Two wins give them not only .500 in the ACC, but also 19 wins.

That gets them in the tournament for sure IMO, especially if they beat Duke or Wake.
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

That game was incredible. I was jumping up and down every time Tucker nailed another 3. You guys probably already know this, but winning is so much more fun than losing.

I say split the next 2 and win 1 in the ACC tourney and we're in. That would put us at 8-8 in the league and 20-12 overall. Then again, that's exactly what we were the last couple times we got snubbed.

The Terps do this every year. They'll beat the likes of a Duke or UNC but watch, I guarantee you they'll lose the finale at UVa. No sure things in Garyland these days.

Blake is now sharing the NBA record with none other thatn former Terp (and ever-so-briefly, former Washington Bullet) John Lucas.

Blake has got to be one of the toughest guys in sports. There are a million guys with his ability, and him accomplishing what he has is amazing.

Also based on talent, it's hard to believe that MD has a much better chance at making the NCAA tournament than G-town - with the top-ranked recruit in the country in Monroe and what appeared to be a sure 1st rounder in Summers and some skilled veterans and a great young coach - they were a sure thing going into the season. What went wrong?

I've been hammering Gary and calling for his firing if the Terps don't make the NCAAs, but I gotta say if Gary had John Thompson's IIIs roster talent Gary would have 25 wins by now.

Gary can coach but he just can't recruit.

Thompson can recruit but he can't coach well at all.

I think Thompson can coach, but he's just having a bad year. It's hard to say why, though. Maybe he got cocky? Nah, he doesn't seem to be that type.

Another win for the Terps (this time against NC State).

Vasquez was amazing. He had 33 points and literally put the team on his back and carried us to a win.

But in true Vasquez fashion, he had to take a 3pter as the game ended, when the win was secured....just to piss off the fans and Gary Williams.

say what you will about Vazquez, he's been incredible lately. NO ONE on that team other than Vazquez came to play that game.

so here we go again. Classic UMD situation. Watch them lose an absolute heartbreaker to Wake (like Senior Day last year against Clemson) and lay an egg at Virginia (again...). Call me Pessimistic Patty but until I see them pull off a win in one of those games that's the result I'm predicting.

Even if we lose both games, if we show strong in the ACC tourney, we're in.

I think that, with our win against UNC, with our tough loss against Duke minus Vasquez for most of the game, and with tonight's win, our chances of making the NCAA Tournament are pretty high.

But you're right that us NOT making it would be classic UMD fashion.

hmmm...I don't know man, making a strong case for the committee will be tough if we lose both. I think we wrap it up for sure if we beat Wake and win either the VA finale or 1 in the ACC tournament. If we can't pull it off against Wake then the pressure is going to increase for sure. It'll be interesting to see who else is going to step up besides Vazquez. Tucker has been trying to break out lately and hit a HUGE shot tonight so maybe he'll end up being our consistent #2 scorer.

I watched a Euroleague game on NBATV on Saturday and I saw Terrence Morris playing for CSKA Moscow. He was a reserve and was playing mostly on the perimeter.

He's not an ex-Terp but Romain Sato was playing for the other team. I remember wanting the Wiz to pick him up in the second round when he came out.

I'm happy Gary's coaching them up and that Vasquez' game is on. I think the Terps will get it done and get to the NCAAs.

What I hope is perhaps with wins under their belt they can SOME HOW recruit a good big man or get some great JCs in recuiting. I get tired of seeing Roy Williams and Coach K get all the McDonald's All American bigs.
