Absolutely. Management, coaching and the players.

The "identity" of this team should be about the two bigs that put everyone in foul trouble. But the culture off this team is to let them just play like everyone else. Basically, nothing more is asked of Andrea Bargnani than, say, Anthony Parker. You have an open shot, take it. Once in a while, pump fake and drive. Every player is the same except for their height. That's no identity.

Interesting idea. I'm wondering though, how much more foul trouble do you want CB and Bargs to put people in? Don't they already do it enough for bigs? I think that if they do it anymore than they do now, the defenses could easily adjust. Not calling you out or anything, just wondering about that point.

The main adjustment is double teams. I would not look for them to drive on a double. Although, the counter would be to pass to the other big who wouldn't be doubled. (btw,Bosh and Bargnani are so bad at passing out of the double team right now)

Also, you'e not always going to get the calls. But when you do.....like getting Dirk with 3 fouls in the 2nd Q last night, you have to attack him in the 3rd Q. Their next drive on Dirk was in the 4th Q and of course, Dirk picked up a foul. The next drive was a layup and the next drive was his 5th foul. but it was all too late.

You can bash people's game but calling a grown man Ru Paul knowing he is neither gay nor a drag queen is harsh. Shaq needs to shut up once in a while and not take personal shots at people. IF someone called me that at a bar or on the street, I would have a serious problem with that.
Ignore that one CB, low-brow shot.

The idea is that Bosh is a big man, but not really a big man.

In addition I doubt Bosh is insecure enough that he'd care if someone called him gay, or a drag queen.

I get the idea about the big man, just think it is a unwarranted shot.

I am not saying Bosh is insecure or worried about one player calling him "a pansy," but I think it is a poor way to express to the media that he doesn't respect CB's game.
Again, them's fightin' words in my eyes.
Shaq needs a temp-muzzle for this because I am sure Gay Rights Groups would also be unhappy that a star player uses a famous gay person in comparison to another player as an insult. Whatever. I wish CB could super-hard-foul him in the next game, but Shaq is too strong and mean.

There you go. This pro pro sports, CB wants to be among the elite athletes. So I ask you, why the "but"?. You don't have to win every fight you're in but you have to have the guts to be in them. If you back down, you will be taken advantage of. Teams have been running plays at Bosh for a long time. There's no sense in trying not to pick up fouls if it's just going to result in trading jumpers for lay ups and dunks. I swear sometimes he gets and1's called on him when he's trying to get out of the way. It's a weird phenomenon because he does rebound well and he will take charges, but it seems like he doesn't want to challenge anybody.

Shaq is a clown (in both a good and bad way) who has called out everyone from opposing players to coaches to teammates and even front-office staff in his time - he was understandably annoyed that Bosh called his 45-point gem into question.

What is not as amusing is the number of Raptors fans who want to use this flash-in-the-pan occurence to "prove" that CB4 has no respect from his peers, or that Shaq's comments somehow validate their criticisms of Bosh this season.
Grow up, people.

Ru Paul became very famous when hired as the international spokesperson for Toronto-based MAC cosmetics.

Okay. The "but..."

Well because there are very few in the league that are going to go toe-to-toe with Shaq in a very aggressive manner in a game situation. Shaq has been hard-fouling all year and is setting the tone about how he is the toughest player int he league. I don't really understand what you mean here. Are you truly saying that Chris Bosh (and I like him) would be able to take it to Shaq and would be able to deliver a hard foul? He is mean, tough, 7'1, 300 pounds and I don't think this is a feasible idea. What the hell do you want from Chris? He got trash-talked and we are all guessing at what he will do and what he should do. Don't worry, when he is in NYC with Lebron and D'Antoni, everyone here can concentrate on our much-improved roster without him.

Those who thought Shaq's response was clever or that he "won" some kind of dissing context with Bosh just revealed their age or mentality. That's like arguments in elementary school.

Bosh: You stole my pencil.
Shaq: You're a dummyhead. And you look like a girl!
Crowd of 8 year olds (AKA Realgm): Oooh! Diss! Burn!! You got Pwned!

Shaq calls himself the "Big Aristotle" (I've never heard anyone else use this term for him).

Since he thinks of himself as a philosopher, maybe he knows what the term "ad hominem" means. From Wiki:

An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the man", "argument against the man") consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the source making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim. The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject.

...It is also used when an opponent is unable to find fault with an argument, yet for various reasons, the opponent disagrees with it.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is. Shaq doesn't actually provide evidence against Bosh's argument and attacks him personally. Even if you believe that Bosh "plays like RuPaul" then Shaq is still attacking "a characteristic" of the source instead of "addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim" (all in the above definition).

Shaq's gotta understand that Bosh wasn't complaining about him directly, he was complaining about the Refs. Of course anybody will take advantage of dumb refs.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I think Fairview has it right about how Shaq implied that he's just disguised as big man, but not really one. When you think of it that way it doesn't seem as bad as if it were a shot at his sexuality.

I haven't heard any mention of this on the Fan 590 today. Have I missed something? I wonder if the media might just not want to get into this discussion for fear of saying anything wrong.

Why does Shaq "gotta understand" anything? He just dumped on CB, what repercussions does he have to fear?

CB 's got to understand you don't just say whatever you want to the media without it coming back to bite you in the ass. Shaq get laughs, Bosh will get "Ruuuu Paulll" when shooting free throws, and the rep and nickname that may dog him his for the rest of his career. Which one of these two has "gotta understand"?

What I'm wondering is why does Shaq know RuPaul in the first place.
