Good, we need a veteran backup.

Solid move, and now I think Brooks need to be cut and the 3rd QB job needs to go to Thigpen.

Thiggy is only on the practice squad if he clears waivers

I'd be stunned if anybody claimed Thiggy on waivers, I think it's pretty safe he clears them. 7th round rookie QB's that come from a program that chose to make a character from "Canterbury Tales" their mascot aren't exactly in high demand.

I'm glad we got Holcomb, he's a solid vet backup. I didn't trust Bollinger whatsoever, I'm extremely surprised that he even made it to the NFL, let alone stuck around this long. More power to him for managing that, but I was going to be worried if he saw a single regular season snap for us. We still need to find out if we have guys that can get open and catch the ball for our QB's, though.

I agree that it's unlikely that someone would pickup Thigpen but the Vikings do seem to like him. I'd rather just cut Bollinger, if he can't hold the backup job I don't see any point in keeping him around.

I doubt he gets picked up of we cut him, but there is a reason we drafted him in the 7th round. We were worried someone else would sign him as an undrafted FA. There is still a chance he could go closer to home or something. Also, on a personal sad note. Lowber wants to jump ship....

I'm not sure that he can. I think the Vikings get the first opportunity to put him on their practice squad.

Man Bollinger sucked. I'm happy he's gone. Now maybe we will have something that resembles an offense. I don't know if Jackson is quite ready yet. I think Holcomb might end up starting before it all said and done this year.

Changing your backup QB doesn't affect your offense too much. And Bollinger isn't gone yet.

It does somewhat, since it gives us better hope of having competent QB play.
