Would you offer a starting spot to Gooden to get him?

I'm not sure if I would because Perk is such a defensive threat. Gooden although a solid offensive player maybe lacking on the defensive side of the floor.

No! He's horrible. I don't even want him on the team, let alone as a starter!

I know that, but the pickings our slim for that and there's a ton of bigs on the market right now. We can look at the 99 cent bin after.

Why would we want Gooden as a starter again?

Sometimes you have to promise players things. He's good to have on the team in case we have anymore injuries. Perks shoulder keeps popping out and KG is coming off an injury. It would also solidify our team even more.

I think the team is fine going forward with Powe, Davis, and Moore backing up KG and Perk. While I would like Gooden over Moore, it's not going to happen. And there is no reason to piss off Perkins when he has a scrub starting over him.

Cfan, I don't usually rip you for these threads but..... OK, OK, I'm under control. ;). No. No, I wouldn't. Perk is an underrated part of this team, and that would really disrespect him as a player, while hurting our starting 5. There is a reason George Karl called watching KG and Perk together, "Like a defensive clinic," they are that good together and the reason why we usally dominate the paint and the boards. On the other hand, I do like Gooden as a player, and he'd bring some great rebounding and decent offense to the bench if it were realistic, if we hadn't already signed Moore I'd be doing the Gooden-dance in hopes of appeasing the basketball gods. Also, the big "if" in this is can Drew stay on the floor this year? He's been battling injuries all season, and will likely command decent money in free agency in the off-season so he'd likely be a waste of time for this team.

I voted no.

But I think I would offer him a starting spot if he'd just shave off that stupid **** beard.

I really really hate Gooden.
He is strong, skilled but his has no clue about this game.
So much talent wasted once again...

Yes, you're right.

Ok then, I'd be willing to start his beard, but the rest of him stays on the bench.

Gooden is a bum. He's not going to fit in with San Antonio at all.
