The Toronto Raptors Mods are locking all Shaq/Bosh Threads

Post#1 » by Horryble » Tue Mar 3, 2009 10:37 pm

When I posted a thread stating that, the dude just said he did not care about my opinion. If they don't want reasonable free speech in a forum or to respect their posters then I have no need for that. RealGM should replace that mod (those mods).

Good for them. I wish people would stop treating Shaq saying something like it's news.

You missed the boat dude. How you feel about the Shaq/Bosh issue is irrelevant. People go on the boards to enjoy a relative amount of free speech relative to the issues. They should not be mod nazis and suppress the people.

Well i think its true what bosh said all shaq can do is camp out in the post and wait for someone to pass and dunk the ball. The Raptors that had to guard him that night were skinny soft dudes like chris bosh and andrea bargnani. Im just speaking my mind and ALL SHAQ CAN DO IS CAMP DOWN LOW

TOR fans on that board are unreasonable; the mods have to act in a much harsher fashion and have every right to moderate that board strictly. Don't complain.

Ahh, who cares. I am know this is what shaq does, but bosh had to say something. D12 is not saying much and I wish shaq would take the higher road and say the the kid is good.

I do think sometimes mods at times have a quick trigger. Tastic is a very good mod IMO, but is quick on the lock threads which is necessary I think. I do feel that there are a lot of posters that immature who get offended when someone disagrees with them or the mods control the forum. We have had good ones at least in the phx forum. ATTL, KJ7, Tastic.

I think the issues is old news and we need to move on.

OP, you're a bit slow.

They locked your thread cuz there were 2 or 3 threads about the topic on the main page. Every forum mod does this, not just on the raps board.

My b.s. detector is going off. They locked it because they can't stand their boy getting scrutinized, even vicariously through a little thing called facts.

That's a load of crap. They are locking all shaq/bosh threads and don't have a problem telling anyone who disagrees with that for any reason to f off. Know your facts before you speak out of your blow hole.

Lame. I went to see what Toronto fans thought, period. How about you go to ballerinas.com or whatever your board is.

You are ignorant. I get a kick out of all these people that claim they know how the Toronto board goes lol. Bottom line is this has nothing to do with unruly posters. This has everything to do with mods abusing their powers.

There is an unlocked 34 page thread with almost 500 posts on the topic, where there is certainly a little scrutiny over the entire affair, both for and against Bosh:

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=886937

There was also another long, unlocked thread about what Bosh's response to Shaq should be.

Finally, learn what the word "vicariously" means before using it in a sentence.

1) Tell me I'm speaking out of my "blow hole" again and I'm going to write you up; I'm another poster, and what's more, a global mod, so treat me with respect.

2) The mods on the Toronto forum deal with an extremely rabid fan base that causes problems; it has become their policy to lock things down in order to control sensitive topics.

I am not ignorant, I follow the Toronto board regularly. The relationship to unruly posters is that the board is volatile and if the mods don't crack down, they have to see repetitive threads and moronic nonsense from posters, such as yourself, who don't have the respect to comport themselves with dignity.

You can quote Thomas Jefferson all you want but his quote applies to a democracy; the rights and privileges you enjoy on these boards are not sacrosanct rights presented to all men, women and children, they are a boon gifted to you on the sufferance of those who run the forums.

You are more than welcome to journey elsewhere in your search for a community in which to discuss basketball; we're happy with the way we run things, and it works.

If you don't like it, well, don't let the door hit you on the way out, mon ami, because we're not stopping you.
