50 wins is not gonna happen. 46 is a more realistic goal.

All I care about is holding off the Pistons and Heat for that 4th seed. I don't think we can beat the Pistons without home court for that 7th game. I think we can beat the Heat without home court, but it will be a struggle. I really really really hope the Cavs get the top seed - I'd feel a lot more confident going against them in the 2nd round than the Celtics.

Don't you think it would be a fun rematch with the Celtics though? We need to create some kind of rivalry with someone so that we can get more national attention and a second round playoff matchup with the Celts again would be just that... if we could push it to 7 games again then there is at least 3 nationally televised games next year versus the Celts alone.

The more national attention we get, the more our fans and others watch us and the more intriguing we become to bigger names.

Even if 50W would be hard to get, I hope we get at least 45W, and I don't the 4th seed being under that.

NWO4Life, you used 26/34 instead of 34/60, which makes 56.66%, so 46.5W.

But we only played 27 home games, so there are 14 home games left and only 8 games on the road.

We are at 20-7 at home, so a projected 10.4W record for the last games,
and 14-19 on the road, so a projected 3.4 W.

It makes nearly 14 projected W for the last 22 games, so a record of 50W-32L

Back to reality: some home games will be Vs NOH, UTA, POR, DAL, SAS, BOS, LAL, ORL (the other games: DET, IND, SAC, MIN, IND again and MIA). Not sure we manage to get 10 or 11 W, but it will be interesting to see.
Road games are NYK, CHA, CLE, PHI, BOS, TOR, MIL and MEM.

Out of those home games 10 are against playoff teams. Those are all brutal home games except for the Sac and Min ones. The rest are really up in the air.

The schedule actually works out perfectly for the Hawks IMO. The Hawks don't play well on the road in general(which why I'm happy they have less road games)but they seem to get down by about 10-15 points at some point in just about every road game against good teams. The last quality road win the Hawks have(I don't consider the AI pistons a good team)was against Miami in December.

The Hawks play well at home in general. It's pretty obvious that the Hawks have alot more confidence for "big games" at home. The only 3 games the Hawks weren't competitive in at home were against Philly,New Jersey,and the Clippers. They had the lead late against Boston and Cleveland and Bibby missed a wide open layup that would have tied the game vs Orlando. 50 wins would be nice but I really don't care what the Hawks win total is as long as they have the 4th seed.

I wouldn't say there were too many that said we'd have "no chance" to be .500. But this team has certainly surprised me with their record, especially with how many inconsistencies they've shown on the floor.

That is where i am. It doesn't much matter if we will 44 or 47 as long as we get the 4th seed. I think if we get the 4th seed we win the first round.

i think we will give Boston or the Cavs trouble. Boston doesn't have Posey any more and the Hawks are better than last year.

Marvin does such a good job on Lebron defensively that it gives us a chance against the Cavs. The Hawks have shown that they respond to big national TV games.

Just out of curiosity i went back to the play by play to see if my perception was right. Lebron played 44 minutes and scored 26 pts. Only 15 of those were when Marvin was playing.

It's been down for a couple years. There working on different functions on the site, but theres no timetable for anything to get accomplished, so I have no idea when it's set to come back. It was even down when the site was updated over a year ago. Speaking of post count, I need to just start lurking, because between trying to get the Atlanta boards moving, and other areas on the site mine has bloated.

I gave Atlanta roughly 39 wins, so over the Vegas win number, but I starting being my own enemy after reading different articles online from other predictions. Originally I felt we would have just over forty wins. Elton Brand and CB being traded from Detroit plays into it as well. I expect Philly to be better, Toronto, and Detroit would be better if they kept CB. I'm happy the team's exceeding most of the expectations out there before the start of the season, but I feel the team has plenty of room to improve, and many question marks after the season.

I predicted 42-46 wins I think. I always thought we were a bit above .500. Now, I don't get carried away at all. There's no way the Hawks will get 50 wins and the reasons Marvin and Horford have been outstanding in the last few games are simple: JJ is passing, Bibby isn't getting many shots due to playing time, and I finally think Woodson realized that Smith can't even be our 3rd option on the offensive end. We're still a long way to go though, and it starts by trading Smith away for a C.
