GO DJ! THAT'S MY DJ!

Say Go DJ! That's my DJ!

Obviously, Memphis is a bunch of scrubs. They have some good, solid talent, but young. I'm sure in a few years they will be amazing with the likes of Mayo, Gasol, and Gay.

Tonight DJ showed he can be better than both Drew Gooden and Joe Smith because of what he brings. Defense;
great shot blocking, patrolling the paint, rebounding, energy, and even hit a few long range jumpers on the other side of the court. Bonus!

Say go DJ! That's my DJ!

I wouldn't take it to the level of him being better than Gooden or Smith, but he had a nice game. With minutes, that will come.

lol @ him being as good as gooden or smith but he did show tonight that he's serviceable and a decent insurance policy to have on the bench.

i'd really like to comment on the thread that phil locked about the league trying to keep the homecourt race close...

I dont by any means agree with this theory nor do I think that the NBA is rigged (although I have heard and certainly can merit some respect for the argument for it) but I don't understand why we can't discuss such a thing. In today's sports world with the whole Donaghy thing it is at least topic for discussion. Were all Laker and NBA fans here, I don't post much but I read the various threads daily and enjoy the insight and analysis that most of the regular posters bring. With that said, I recall a couple of threads here and there that I think get locked prematurely and this one happened to stand out. Am I way off here or would some of you guys like to have a bit of a discussion as to why this is out of the realm of possibility.

DJ was definitely the MAN today. His shots weren't just bouncing around the rim.. they were swishes!!! and his defense and blocking was awesome as well

why don't you try mentioning it in the around the NBA tread. it wont get locked there and it is apropiate. it wont derail the Menga thread.

Glad to see this thread. Of course he's not as good as Smith or Gooden but me & a couple of posters were catching heat about saying Mbenga needed more PT && someone was lobbying that we should have kept Chris Mihm :lol: Now he's having yet another ankle surgery. I don't remember who the poster was but I hope he mans up & comes in here & gives up props to DJ :D

DJ had a nice game yesterday, I was shocked when he drained those two long j's (swishes too!). He's definitely no Joe Smith or Drew Gooden though. He also still needs to learn how to defend without fouling.

I agree with the notion that he is not as good as Smith Or Gooden.

However, he is better for the Lakers as a TEAM. Because he brings what the Lakers lack most; a defensive center who can bang, block, and rebound. Anything on offense he gives is a bonus.

If Mbenga can fill in while Bynum is gone, we have a winner.

DJs game seems to have improved a bit both on offense and defense.. last year he was hacking around...

Is it me or everyone else thinks the same thing..
