“I know I’m going to have hiccups,” Marbury said. “Adjusting to these guys is difficult because they play at a high level. It’s not a level where I’m used to. I haven’t played at this level. I’ve never played at a championship level before, so for me, adjusting my style of play, adjusting how I prepare . . . it’s all the same as far as going in with a mind-set, but doing things the way they do things is (what’s) very important.

“Oh yeah, but it’s good,” Marbury said, summoning the energy for a brief smile. “It was a hard practice today defensively. Defensively this team is amazing. They work at it. They get after it. That’s what it’s about. That’s why they won the championship.”

It's amazing how I always disliked Marbury, yet now he's a Celtic and everything he says I'm thinking, "Wow, he really seems like a different guy," yet if he had joined the Lakers I'd be thinking, "Sure Marbury, you'll revert back to your old ways first sign of trouble." Sometimes being a biased fan is embarassing when it comes home to you. I look back now and suddenly see things in a different light, that whole New York team was a mess, starting and ending with Isiah Thomas, etc. etc. It sort of makes me re-assess some other guys I've never liked, Rasheed, Artest, Iverson.... no, not Iverson

Marbury is very talented and intelligent guy, as long as he is in check and works hard, he will deliver. His past will haunt him, and current situation is live or die for him. If he succeeds, he has a future in the NBA, regardless if its Boston or another team, if he fails now - his career is over.

Make no mistake, Marbury was a big part of that mess in NY.

With that said, he's now saying and doing all the right things for you guys, and I'd expect that to continue at least for the remainder of this season, if not longer. A change of scenery can work wonders for a player's attitude, and winning certainly helps too

Marbury reminds me of Rodman, he always had the talent and a game, but it was his offcourt attitude and his on court mistakes that derailed his career, but under good leadership and guidance he became one of the best rebounders in the game with what he could provide the Bulls.

Now the samething could be said about Steph, I think he had his slipups in the past and now he has made his money but he still hasnt performed at the level he is expected to perform.
I think Doc can really mold him and use him to strenghten your bench and have him be a great contributor to your success come playoff time.

Oh, I have no doubt that Marbs was a big part of the mess in NY, though I still think Isiah was the real catalyst. What I was saying is that now that Marbs is a C I look back and suddenly find myself giving him the benefit of the doubt that I was never willing to give him before. Mostly just laughing at myself when it comes down to it. I do think he'll be fine here though, whether humbled or motivated by repairing his image with the thoughts of a new contract.

The environment a person performs in is a very important element to how someone reacts...Marbury is not cut out to be the focal point of all media scrutiny and the bearer of the team's success or failure, but let him be a piece to the puzzle and he may just hit his potential finally...

Least hes looking at things the right way, hes willing to buy into what ever hes told to do and is happy to just be on such a great team.

Also exciting that both he, and Moore have finally gotten some practice time with the team, that can only help

That Marbury is giving himself so fully to the process is a better sign than even his fourth-quarter outburst vs. the Pacers. The talent is there. If it’s joined by commitment, then it will most assuredly present itself.

This is what I liked best. If he's willing to commit himself, it can only mean great news for the Celtics.

Seeing him interviewed the other night I couldn't help but think how he seemed really just in shock. He seemed totally in awe of his situation. He seemed like he had an almost child-like excitement.
