Spurs+Gooden=Western Conference Champions

After seeing the spurs sign the most underrated power foward/player in the history of the nba many now feel the Spurs are better then the Lakers. Please discuss.

If Bynum is back in time Laker own Spurs.

If Bynum is not present, Spurs might come away with it.

Spurs do tend to win championships in odd years, so sticking with that trend, they are dangerous right now.

lamar is still going to be guarding bonner/gooden regardless and its still a win in the lakers favour

The only thing Gooden adds to the Spurs is some needed depth, and the only thing he is good at is offense. Defensively, he's going to get raped, which might just cancel out whatever extra offense he brings. Match-up wise, it would be stupid for the Spurs to start him against us over Bonner. The one thing that Bonner does is space the floor, and seeing as how we don't guard 3-point shooters worth a shizzle, that would work to our benefit.

Why did the Spurs even sign Drew Gooden? They don't need him. They already have guys like Oberto, Kurt Thomas and Matt Boner. When is he gonna play?

I suspect he'll play behind Bonner. KT is likely going to fill in at center when Duncan is getting a breather as he's better suited for defending reserve bigs.

Fabricio Raul Jesus (loves the little children) Oberto is probably going to be riding some serious pine from here on out. Then again, I don't follow the Spurs closely so who knows.

Gooden is arguably better then Tim Duncan if he had the same chances in his career as Timmy did, how can you say Bonner is better? And from what I remember Drew Gooden owns Lamar Odom. Had Cleveland kept Gooden Lamar would have never had that 15 rebound game or whatever it was in Cleveland this year.

Also for the record Gooden is fully capable of draining 3's at a good average and he is one of the best rebounders in the league. Even with Bynum I don't feel the Lakers are the favorite anymore against the Duncan, Gooden combo on the inside.

ok ok yeah hes a decent rebounder but to call him one of the best in the league is an exaggeration. umm idk where ur gettin ur facts but...gooden is not capable of draining 3's...career 22% and the last 3 he made was in 2006 when he went 1-6 that year.

Those were set 3 pointers. He launches one from full court as the quarter is coming to an end and your going to count that against his stats? I have seen him drain 3's in practice many times.
