Chad Jackson to be CUT!?

Post#1 » by deep throat » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:40 pm

This has been reported on the Packer board by the mod there. I think he is referring to this

What have you guys heard?

Here's the just "Second-year players Bam Childress, Kelvin Kight, and Chad Jackson, and free-agent signees C.J. Jones and Chris Dunlap are the long shots to make the team but stranger things have happened in football"

Not that surprising. We have alot of wide recievers now, so ya have to expect some cuts. The globe predicts Caldwell to be cut.

Who, Caldwell or Jackson? Caldwell has played. I am pretty sure Jackson is still rehabing from his injury.

As for them being cut, Caldwell was a prediction my Mike Reiss, money reasons I think he said. And I am not sure on jackson, but I wouldnt be shocked if he were to be cut.

Pretty usless info, but I found interesting is that childress is cousins with champ bailey.

EDIT: Pats moved Jackson and Brown to the Reserve/PUP list. Which means that they cant come off till week 6 of the season. Got that from boston.com

Why can't they put Jackson on IR instead? I thought he was still hurt.....

Jackson was placed on the PUP list along with Troy Brown. So I'd assume he remains on the IR for the season.

Putting him on the PUP gives them more flexibility. If someone goes down with an injury (like Stallworth or Moss), and Jackson is healthy come week 6, you can add him to the active roster without any trouble. If you play him on IR and someone gets hurt in week 4, you are scrambling to find a replacement. I seriously doubt the kid gets cut unless he has shown a complete lack of desire for the game or contempt for preparation. mahalo
