The Los Angeles Lakers today assigned Sun Yue to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate Los Angeles D-Fenders. Sun is the 28th assignment of the 2008-09 season and the first from the Lakers to the D-Fenders this season.
Sun, a 6-9 guard from China, has appeared in 10 games with the Lakers this season, totaling six points and two assists in 28 minutes. He made his NBA debut on Dec. 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks and scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting in five minutes.
Just hit the wiretap a little while ago. What do you guys think about this move? i've set up a poll to see wat you all think of Sun Yue and to get ppl's thoughts and opinions on him. IMO, it can't hurt to leave him in the D-League. I think he has potential to do damage in this system, he'd be a nice big pg to have in the triangle once Fish is gone if he properly develops but idk how that'll turn out. So far Phil has yet to give him a consistent time so he's probably not ready to contribute. Hopefully he can by next season, otherwise we do have Shannon Brown
