Bad-Thoma says to you- I was wrong.

Post#1 » by Bad-Thoma » Sat Mar 7, 2009 3:50 am

I've been on people for complaining about the officiating of late.... and after tonight's game against the LeBrons... I apologize. While I've admitted that the officiating sucks I've argued against a bias in the way the games are called, but tonight I was furious. If this game doesn't come under review from the league, something is really wrong. The massive FT discrepancy, throwing Glen out, the timely calls against the Cavs that actually saved them from us scoring, the timely 3 second calls when they were offensivley in trouble... **** the refs, and **** the league for letting them get away with **** like this. Celtic's win big in a game of 5-8 should be the ESPN story tonight.

But it won't be. ESPN's recaps will show solely LeBron highlights, leading the viewer to believe that the Cavs won in a blowout, only to toss in a "Cavaliers lose by 11" at the very end in a low voice like an afterthought.

And Bad-Thoma: I'm with you: I don't call conspiracies, but this was atrocious. Did you hear Leon make a comment about it to Greg Dickerson after the game?

And can you believe Cavaliers fans are complaining about the refs in their board???WOW...What else do the refs need to do to get them happy?? They gave them the red carpet to the line for 10 whole minutes in the 4th..this would have been a 20 pt win had these refs not **** screwed us all night...

Apology Accepted-!!
haha----I'm the big complainer here----but I'm usually right---I've watched a TON of Cavs games---and more times than not, they get the calls down the stretch--the Lakers DON'T get those calls----and heaven knows, we don't.

I am not a conspiracy guy either, but I agree tonight's game was over the line. Terrible calls.

Now that baby call was fine, but it amazes me that LeBron didn't get more then just a technical, he jumped over his own player, grabbed perk, when perk was just standing there, and then proceeded to yap at ray allen. And they give Ray a tech to match LBJ's.

FTW = FOR THE WIN! In other words, good post.

Maxwell: You deserve credit.

Celtics_Champs: Agreed. "Double technicals" are the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) thing. It's political correctness invading the NBA. "Okay, we can't have one player and team feel bad about itself...we'll make BOTH teams get a technical so there's no crying, even if the other team didn't do anything, just to make it 'fair.'" **** moral equivalence....

No, and I checked. It seems as if the complaining was by one idiot Cav fan, singular.

We won despite the terrible calls....it still doesn't make it right....it was a twisted called game and they're getting worse as the season goes on. 8-)

Bad-Thoma, glad you saw the light. That "foul" on Mo Williams in the 4th alone warrants some serious investigating....
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I was pondering this. Do you think there is a conspiracy to make games closer if there are marquis names involved? The refs did anything they could to keep Cleveland in that game Friday night and the same can be said about the Celtics/Orlando game yesterday. The Dwight Howard foul call was terrible and they got Rashard in foul trouble also.

I have a very sour taste in my mouth from officiating lately.

Stop telling people to quit the complaining. The game is decided by 15 people and not 10. Wake up. The refs clearly have a say in the game. The best handicappers in the world are sure to look at the ref crew before assessing a game.

Nothing new. The ref crew tries to get the team which is down on a run during the 2nd half. It's quite common and I expect it. It's like the CPU help option in NBA Live, that keeps games close.

Needless to say, I hate the officiating.

This, and it was a mod too. You'd expect him to try to set an example for the rest of the board.
