Texas Triangle Sweep Moment

Post#1 » by GWVan » Sat Mar 7, 2009 1:26 pm

Last year the Texas triangle sweep was when I KNEW the Celtics would win it all.

Last nights game was my moment for this year. They beat the greatest threat to the ring while playing 5 on 8 (come on, 38-12 ft AT HOME?) without one of the big 3 and several key rotation players. Mark April 12th down as a victory and count on some stunned sports analysts when the Celtics win the ECF in 6. The finals will be anticlimactic.

I've been to busy this year to watch as many games, so I don't know all the reasons, but this is a much better team than last year. Certainly Ray, Rajon, Baby, and Powe are better players than they were last year, but I also think that Pierce is playing with a confidence that he never had. He knows he can do it, last year he was still tentative at the end of close games with a lead, looking at the clock, and just trying to get it over. In fact there was a post game interview where he said that. Last night he just kept playing and never let them have a chance.

Enjoy the ride kiddos, they are going back to back and the big three are casting their trip to the HOF in stone.

It's just one game. It was very encouraging, but I don't think any of us are going to be too happy if Pierce has to play 45 minutes each night in a seven game series against Lebron.
