Watching Chandler vs. OKC its obvious....

....that the reason the trade was rescinded was not because of the official reason given, but for financial reasons.

Chandler is running like a deer, jumping and dunking all over the place.

I am sick to my stomach right now.

Yeah man, he's looked pretty solid thus far. Early on it looked like the Thunder might be run out of the building.

I'm sure their concerns (if valid) were long-term, not about his short term ankle sprains...

this is just a tough pill to swallow, but at least (so far) we're still in the game without kd, green, thabo.

this is encouraging because its bulding confidence in the role players like weaver and kristic.

also, westbrook is actually not making me cringe much this game so this is progress.

anyway, it still hurts to watch chandler :(:(

Just hurts to watch in general... the end of that game was horribly ugly for the Thunder. Kept it close all game long and then just let it go completely in the last several minutes.

Don't forget Chandler looks better alongside Paul than he'd look in OKC. OKC did pretty well getting Krstic.

I have trouble believing that it would be for financial reasons; they had full understanding of the financial considerations when they agreed to the trade. It just makes such little sense that a few weeks (or less) would make that big of a difference in financial outlook.

After the trade went down I believe Stern said that the salary cap may get lower next year

I think it was more of a hybrid... like when they did the deal it was "ehh, this is a risky move but we've gotta go for it (pushing the trade button while looking the other way". And then during the physical, it probably came back a little worse than expected which just put the amount of risk in the trade just over their threshold...

Chandler is back on the shelf for the last 3 games (and probably a few more) due to his ankle. Does this change anybody's mind? I know that Chandler has just always been a guy that misses a lot of games, and that usually only gets worse as guys age (Marcus Camby seemed to be a really weird exception over the last few years).

Personally, I still feel like that huge defensive/rebounding center is what this team has to have to succeed. But if we can pull it off in another manner and Chandler continues to be a game-time decision for the rest of his career, it's hard to fault the management too much...
