Charlotte accepts. We didn't have much playing time for Lopez so we moved him for a future asset.

Knicks can't trade their 2011 pick, since they already traded their 2010 pick.

The 2010 pick that New York has as a debit is unprotected, and like skflives noted that rule isn't in affect in GM a Teams; a few teams don't have any 1st round picks for the next 3 or 4 years.

Are all the trades from earlier in the week officially approved?

In our final move to get under the cap the Knicks have decided to waive Matt Carroll.

I cannot believe that a team that was able to move Zach Randolph, Eddy Curry, Kenyon Martin, Dan Gadzuric, Jamal Crawford and Jared Jeffries two times found it absolutely impossible to move Matt Carroll. The guy has a long term deal but its front loaded and gets cheaper every year. All he's asked to do is get in the game every once in a while and hit a long range shot. For his price he's not nearly as overpaid as most of the guys I have dealt. And yet he was the guy who was absolutely impossible to move. Go figure.

It was between Carroll and Hughes but with my complete inability to bring stalwarts like Jamaal Tinsley or Brevin Knight to the team I felt like I had to keep Hughes. With guys like Brandon Rush and Morris Almond we already had two young shooting guards who have good outside shots. I just could not justify having Matt Carroll take any of their minutes.

Raps + Charlotte deal

Raptors sign and trade Center Cole Aldrich - 1,424,400
Hassan Adams (Not guaranteed) 500,000
Total: 1,924,400

for

Jerryd Bayless - 2,143,080

I get an exciting guard to play next to Smith/Richardson/Wilcox

Charlotte accepts; we really liked Aldrich out of the draft, and we feel that he may be our PF of the future plus we don't need bayless with rubio and collision on our team.

Huh? What do you mean get under the cap by waiving Carroll. You still pay the contract when you waive a player...

Varnado is only a junior so you can't sign him.
