yeah, really important to log those vet minutes, especially because, you know, Songaila and Jamison match up so well rebounding wise...

Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

I like how the Mavs players are getting overly excited while barely beating the Wizards in the 4th QTR.

Yeah, that was pretty pathetic. It shows how far they've fallen, but I guess they didn't want a repeat of the OKC debacle.

mmm, well, I think it was more "oh no here we go again, oh wait no we overcame a 10 point deficit to take a 15 point lead, woohoo we still rawk! We're not all going to be traded!"
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Note that it's second quarter, WIZ up 6 and I know Tapscott will lose playing Jamison his minutes and trotting Songaila back out there.
I hear yeah. This was frustrating to watch and I've been one to give Tapps plenty of credit for the good things he has done given the hand he was dealt. Short of purposely tanking, this made no sense.
I saw the same thing you did. Blatche was gaming. McGee gave us the height and athleticism to match up better. NY was even playing a more effective very unlike Nick game. There was a point there were we were out running and out hustling them. D looked nice. Then AJ came in like you said and you saw it change. NY came out also. I was at least happy to see NY come back in. Looked like Tapps was on top of things. But they just pulled away in the 3rd. Felt very EFJ like for sure.
It was clear that AJ and CB just couldn't get out of the way. CB does that same thing Nick does. He hold the ball to long. AJ made plenty of stupid plays. They stopped moving the ball around and playing team ball. But with their pts and rebounds it will look like they had good games only they really didn't. AJ 24 pts. Dirk 34 pts
22 turnovers. AJ 5. CB 7 Thats 12 of the 22
Dirk is amazing. 7-0 ft and can't jump 2 inches yet he is so effective. I also noticed he isn't any bigger up top then Blatche is. All of Dirk's strength is in his lower half. The just stays balanced and in control. The guy is just a stone cold shooter.
This was just one of those games were you can't get by with DSong and AJ down low. You had to do with more athletic tall line ups.
Tapps did a decent job the first quarter and a 1/2. After that, I wasn't very impressed. I made little sense to play AJ 40 mins and CB off a bad hammy 42.
But the sliver lining is another loss. Dame it hard to catch SAC. and Mem and Minn are really running for the bottom as fast as they can so we should be happy we lost. Still would have been nice to see more McGee when he was playing well.
Well next up is MIN. we have a little cushion. But we also have SAC on the 15th. Battle of the basement. Then the clippers on the 18th. Then MEM April 1. So we have 4 important games still to go.
Not sure we can afford to bring GA back. Man it's painful going for the number 1-3 pick.

F TAP
I mean seriously, i watched parts of the game, turned it on, J Critt blows by his man, and 1, and next possesion down, tap puts.....mike James back in.
What happens, oh you guessed right...the Mavs go back on a run to completely diminish any chance of coming back (this was late in the 4th)
I cant wait til the lottery now.
"and that means the 1st pick goes to the Washington Wizards"
music to my ears
oh and after that
"With the first pick in the 2009 NBA draft, the Washington Wizards select Blake Griffin, foward Oklahoma."
thats like a symphony

You all can't possibly comprehend how happy I am that I decided to forgo this game and watch "The Watchmen" with a few buddies of mine. Not that it was a tough decision or anything.
I would have definitely petitioned for McGee to get more minutes....something, as you all know, I cannot legally say.
I also would have likely had a few choice words for Tapscott and company.
Saved me a bunch of anger, my decision did. And I enjoyed a kick-ass movie in the meantime.

OT - You actually like Watchmen? I thought it was horrible. Maybe that's cuz I never read the graphic novel but the movie was some butt. I like the story line but they kept diverting from it with useless flashbacks and pointless tangents (see the prison scene). If they had cut out all the crap and stuck to the main plot line this could have been a great 1.5 hour movie.

I never read the novel or comic book or anything either. But I'm a fan of the T.V series "Lost" so I have a greater appreciation as to how important flashbacks are in terms of character development.
As for the prison scene, really?! Every scene in the prison was epic. It may not have greatly contributed to the overall plot but in terms of pure entertainment, it was my favorite part of the movie (especially the part when Rorschach is standing in line for food).
It's also a movie that actually makes you think, though most of the discussion I had was about Doctor Manhattan and his motives and reasoning for the decisions he made.
I really enjoyed the movie.
