I agree that GS has too much invested in Ellis to dump him for salary...however, to the extent that GS wants to rid itself of one of its long contracts, I would suggest a better fit for the TWolves would be Maggette...Miller for Maggette straight up...Maggette doesn't have the best attitutde, but he is a tough-minded player who will drive relentlessly to the basket and open up offensive opportunities for KLove, and who is also a very good defensive player (from the times I have watched)...
FA PG/Telfair
Foye/Brewer
Maggette/Gomes
KLove/Smith
Big Al/Draft Pick
Use Cardinal's expiring and picks for a PG or C, or just patiently acquire assets through the draft as long as McHale is far removed from the process!

I almost forgot his contract was that bad.....avoid. For some dumb reason I thought it was only 7mil, not 11. Wow. avoid big time.

Maggette's contract is a huuuuuuuge no-go. I like him as a player but I don't want his contract. how long is his contract? 5 years at 10 million each year?

After this year it is 9, 9.5, 10, 11...at some point the Wolves need to go out and get a scorer from the wing, and Maggette, if nothing else is that...

true but I'd like to see if we might get a younger player to fit that criteria

Minor quibble, but Nelson freakin' loves Turaif. No way he's trading him.
Maggette is fools gold. Puts up good numbers for bad teams, but kills all ball movement by NEVER passing the ball and has mastered the matador defense. When players from other teams are calling you out for selfishness, you are on a whole other level.

It would be funny if the Wolves got Maggette and he became Jim "flipflop" Pete's new favorite player. I can just hear him now trying to rationalize the 5yr/50mil contract..

sometimes maggette not passing the ball is a good thing if you want instant offense. if he's not passing the ball then he's either drawing a bunch of fouls, shooting a bunch of fts or scoring a bunch of pts in a limited amount of time.

I agree with this statement. Its a tribute to the contribution that Turiaf has provided to say that among three very desirable guys (Monta, Randolph, and Turiaf), that Turiaf has become so valuable to GSW.

Re: Cashing in Min/GS
If we trade miller for maggette we had better get a very nice filler to take on that contract; so we don't have an interest in maggette
As for Ellis, I think Ellis would be a decent fit, but I'm not sure if I would do the trade.
