Wow, someone needs to get off the high horse. The Thunder are a young team, and they are doing better than expected. They have a fantastic core, as long as they can keep Durant, Green, and Westbrook, I think they can be as good as anyone in about 3 yrs time, well not top 4, but maybe top 8, and I'm quite sure they'll be a playoff team by then since the Suns and Spurs core will be pretty old by then.

The fact of the matter is Melo has a team now, so the scoring load isn't falling squarely on his shoulders. Over his career he has proven himself to be one of the best, if not the best offensive player in the league. Of course his numbers will drop now that he has a team that can actually score but that doesn't mean he can't score. He isn't forcing nearly as many shots, he's passing, working off the ball, rebounding and even playing a little bit of defense. I'll take this Melo any day over the 28-30 ppg Melo because that means the Nuggets are not a well rounded team.

Durants a nice young player but he is scoring because he has to score.

So you can only compare two individuals when they're both on an equally good or bad team? I think you're forgetting that you have Billups, Martin, JR, Nene and Kleiza.

Both Melo and Durant are great offensive players, but if you want to be mentioned in the same breath as Wade, Bryant or James you need to play a little defense and quite frankly, neither do. Call me when either of these two can play defense.

I think they have 3 first round picks in the next draft, so they will continue to get better. One of those picks should be a top 5 pick in the draft and the other two come from the Nuggets and the Spurs. I think they will be involved in a trade or two during the draft to try and get a few vets to fit in with what they already have.
