Jason Richardson

Post#1 » by DaDragicShow » Mon Mar 9, 2009 11:41 am

I thought this was a perfect pick-up at first but now I just don't like this trade. Richardson is all bout flashy moves but when the game is on the line he just can't make the big shots. Missed a big 3 pointer against the Spurs a month ago, and today against the Spurs took a difficult shot in the corner and missed. I remember there are plenty more shots he took when you're thinking to yourself why in the world would he take that kind of shots. Some of you may disagree but that's what I saw the past 2 months with him and I'm not sure weather he will be back next season for us.

He's a bit of a soft player. He doesn't get to the foul line nearly enough. Way too much soft stuff and not enough aggression.

He was a good fit on the Warriors because he was there so long he got huge pop from the crowd when the Warriors had their magical run. They got rid of him and haven't been the same since.

He looked pretty bad against Houston, I kept saying to myself "I thought he was better than this" the entire game.

Yeah, like if you look at his career stats, he put up something 20ppg in like 2 or 3 season and you'd think he's at least a 2nd choice go-to scorer if not the first choice. We should maybe find a way to run more plays for him.

hes probably our dumbest player in terms of bball IQ (worse than barnes). continuously loses his man through screens and simple plays, doesn't close out on shooters (runs up to them and doesn't even raise his hands), and his lateral quickness isn't there. he shoots a terrible % from the FT line for a guy whose supposed to be a good shooter, and his jumper is terribly inconsistent. and i agree he needs to attack the basket more, but he has no ballhandling skills

J-Rich is nothing but a flashy dunker and mediocre at best 3 point shooter, he is also fairly decent at creating space to make a layup. He just needs to learn how to control the ball better and gain a pull up jumper and he would be good. And does anyone else notice he is WAYYYY more explosive off 2 feet then 1? It looks like he is completely off balance when he goes off 1 foot.

I wish we kept Raja and Boris. We can blame Terry Porter for that trade. If he let the team play up-tempo from the beginning, Raja and Boris would still be in Phoenix.
